Current Royal Rumble and WrestleMania Predictions from 12/29

Since we're starting down the exciting road to WrestleMania, a few questions have been asked of our players letting them predict far in advance what they think will be happening at the two biggest PPVs of the year, the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 25.

The first three questions below are asking for your predictions about WrestleMania specifically.  The Money in the Bank question will be accepting predictions until February 6th, while the two questions dealing with the challengers for the two main world titles will be closing the Friday before Royal Rumble.

The last two questions were the Royal Rumble questions we asked our players to predict back in October.  Obviously, a lot has changed in the WWE landscape so it's likely many players would like to go back and change their picks - but that's the whole point, you're trying to predict with very limited knowledge for big point gains.  Fear not, when the Royal Rumble PPV prediction game opens, you'll have your chance to make a new pick for the winner of the Rumble!  If you happen to luck out and get it correct both in your pick in October AND in the Royal Rumble prediction game, you'll be riding high with points!

So if you're just starting to play this season, you probably won't have to worry about missing out on the Rumble questions in October since it's doubtful a majority of players will get those correct in the end!  And make sure to get your WrestleMania picks in before those questions close!

The Royal Rumble prediction game will be opening as soon as we know a few matches on the card and a few entrants to the Rumble match - probably tonight on Raw!

And remember to keep an eye out for StevieJ after the Royal Rumble has taken place! Anyone who beats him in predicting the Rumble will be able to send in a shout-out for his wrestling podcast over at AngryMarks.com - your chance to rub it in his face or to try and recruit some new members to your league! That'll be a show I know I won't want to miss! (well, unless he pulls out a 1st place victory!)

TNA's Genesis, First PPV of Season 4, Now Open for Predictions

TNA's Genesis is now open for predictions.  It's the first PPV of the season, so if you're new to the game, you'll want to get your picks in for this show.  We'll be giving away three shout-outs on the Drunkcast radio show to the top 3 winners for the show!  And not to mention, these are the first big points available to help you win the season-ending prizes!

We've also got another league that's just getting started tonight!  Welcome to WrestlingAcademy.Net (visit their forums)! If you're playing and you're still not part of a league, with the season just starting it's a great time to think about joining a league!

Some of the other recent leagues that could use some help this season are 3 Count Wrestling, Talk Wrestling Online, Get-Chained.Net, WrestlingForums.Net, and Wrestling-Radio.com! You can find links to each league's homepage/forums in the pages above (just look for the View Website link) - since you'll want to join up at their community website so you can share your predictions and work together to get the league higher in the ranks!

And here's the current Genesis card.  Spoilers are out there, but I'm waiting to put those up since it's likely with the holidays not many people have had a chance to learn much about the show.

Season 4 aka The Road to WrestleMania Begins!

That's right, the best season of the year for the WWE fans is now upon us!  This season, PPV-wise, begins with WWE's Royal Rumble (yes, TNA's Genesis comes to us first for the season, but let's be honest..  who cares with the Rumble right after?!), and culminates with WrestleMania 25!

There are a number of pending questions here at the site that will definitely be answered during the season.  Certainly, the Royal Rumble questions that were asked back in October could make a few of our users very happy after that show ends!

I've just added three new questions to the site as well.  A few that will hopefully get you in the mood for the 3-month Road to WrestleMania we're about to head out on!  Two are asking who you think will be challenging for the two big titles (WWE and World Heavyweight), while the third question is asking you to pick who you think will walk away with the Money in the Bank briefcase this year!  I've put a few unlikely picks in there, but I believe this list will likely include all of the entrants in the match.  (I am personally hoping to see Shelton Benjamin get his chance to have a standard match on the show this year!)

Good luck!  We have at least one new league joining in to play this season (though many new leagues just signed up near the end of season 3, likely to make a big impact this season) - so let's all welcome WrestlingForums.Net (visit their website)!

Also, mentioned before but they were really only warming up in the last two PPVs getting ready to show their stuff in season 4, but Talk Wrestling Online (visit their website) looks like they could be one of the big dogs!  And if you're running a league and want to see what TWO does to explain how the process goes, check out this page to see a nice example on how you can show your members how to get in on the action!

And as always, we'd like to remind you all to check out the Drunkcast wrestling & MMA podcast! The top 3 winners of every PPV can send in a shout-out that will get read on the air of the show! You can find all episodes of Drunkcast over on a great site I only recently found out about (through the Drunkcast show, incidentally) - AngryMarks.com! (click here for the specific page listing episodes of Drunkcast amongst other shows)

Also, in addition to the awesome Drunkcast shout-outs you can win (because hey, who doesn't like to hit on their favorite WWE diva on the air, by way of having a drunk host read your love letter?!), StevieJ over at AngryMarks is also going to offer shout-outs on his show (also available at the link above) to ANYONE WHO BEATS HIM at predicting the Royal Rumble! That's right, ANYONE! So I say we need to get a couple hundred of us to knock his socks off so that he's stuck reading shout-outs until he passes out!

But please note that the Drunkcast show is not meant for the youngest of children (though if your parents approve, you're good to go!) and I can't say for sure that any other wrestling radio shows you'll find will be rated G to PG, either. That's not to say they talk about anything sick (well, not all the time!), but as we've got quite a few young players here, I can't link to shows without giving a little warning. But if you're of age, check the shows out! Wrestling radio is too much fun for when you're on the go and need something fun to listen to.

Winners for Season 3!

Season 3 officially ended on the 20th and the overall winner for the season is NeedRepairs of The /wooo/ World Order! Congratulations to NeedRepairs who will be the recipient of the $35 Amazon.com gift certificate!

NeedRepairs also managed to take the top spot in the WWE ranking, unsurprisingly, but as we don't award one person multiple season-ending prizes, we've got a lucky 2nd place WWE winner in dvayne of 3 Count Wrestling! Congratulations to dvayne who will be the recipient of one of the $25 Amazon.com gift certificates!

And over on TNA, we've got a clear winner in tdw365 of F4W! Congratulations to tdw365 who just barely beat out Ligerbusa to win the TNA season rankings and who will be the recipient of the other $25 Amazon.com gift certificate!

To you three big winners, I'll be sending off the gift certificates before Christmas Eve, so keep an eye out on your inbox!

And we can't close off the season without mentioning the leagues that ended up winning!

On the overall side, it looked like The /wooo/ World Order was taking things all the way, but F4W ended up pulling out the victory in the end by less than 100 points! We'll blame it on /wooo/'s lack of a solid forum for the last part of the season. :)

For WWE, The /wooo/ World Order did finish incredibly strong, beating out WWE Fan Nation and WrestleHut 2000 by more than 300 points!

And for TNA, F4W edged out The /wooo/ World Order and WrestleHut 2000 by about 300 points as well!

Remember, overall rankings are not simply the addition of WWE & TNA scores - the overall ranking takes into account only the scores of the most well-rounded players (for both WWE & TNA). So congratulations to F4W for having the most balanced group of players! But /wooo/ can take solace knowing they dominated in the WWE rankings.

We've got a lot of new leagues that started during season 3, so good luck to all of you in season 4!

And thanks to everyone for making season 3 as entertaining as it was! Season 4 is technically underway at the moment, so make sure if you want to be one of the big 3 winners at the end of the season that you take part in all of the PPV games and point-scoring questions here at the site!

Who will beat Kozlov, who attacked Jeff Hardy, and the next IC champ predictions for December 15th

Here are the current results for the two active questions here on the site, along with the final results for "Who will be the next Intercontinental Champion?"  More than likely all of these questions will be scored in Season 4, so if you're thinking about starting up in Season 4, you will want to go ahead and answer these questions!

But there is a chance these questions will get answered this week.  If that's the case, the two active questions will be thrown out.  Tyson Tomko is apparently backstage at  Raw tonight, so if he appears on Raw, it's likely he will not be involved with the Hardy storyline - unless they're bringing Jeff to Raw to celebrate his title win (which would be cool).

Predictions from http://www.fourdown.org

(WWE) Who will be the first person to successfully pin Kozlov for a three count?
This question ends on 01/02/2009

-- 10 points for correct answer
-- 4-Down Note: "If he is pinned prior to January 2nd, this question will be thrown out."

Overall Percentages:
Triple H : 23.73%
Jeff Hardy : 23.31%
Anyone else : 20.34%
Undertaker : 19.92%
Umaga : 6.36%
John Cena : 4.24%
Big Show : 1.27%
Batista : 0.85%
Shawn Michaels : 0.00%

(WWE) Who attacked Jeff Hardy the morning of Survivor Series?
This question ends on 12/22/2008

-- 10 points for correct answer
-- 4-Down Note: "If we find out before the question ends, the question will be thrown out.Note that if you think more than one person attacked Jeff Hardy (such as the combination of Tomko & Christian), you will need to choose None of the above."

Overall Percentages:
Edge : 33.54%
Christian Cage : 30.43%
None of the above : 15.53%
Tyson Tomko : 8.07%
Matt Hardy : 5.59%
Triple H : 3.73%
Vladimir Kozlov : 1.86%
Chavo Guerrero : 1.24%
Vickie Guerrero : 0.00%

I like the choices I put up for this one.  Matt Hardy seemed like a pretty wild choice, but he's got a decent amount of votes so far!  I definitely don't think that he will end up the answer, but it's an interesting idea.  I'm surprised Edge is leading considering how much he and Vickie pushed that they weren't involved - a perfect setup for Christian or Tomko to come back and take on that role as the attacker.

(WWE) Who will be the next Intercontinental Champion?
This question ended on 12/06/2008

-- 10 points for correct answer
-- 4-Down Note: "The Intercontinental Champion at the time of this question is William Regal. This question isn't asking who you think will win the tournament - that person may not be the next intercontinental champion. Keep that in mind when making your pick."

Overall Percentages:
CM Punk : 40.13%
Rey Mysterio : 28.03%
John Morrison : 8.28%
Goldust : 5.41%
Kofi Kingston : 5.10%
None of the above : 5.10%
Santino Marella : 2.87%
Cody Rhodes : 2.23%
Kane : 1.59%
The Miz : 0.64%
Finlay : 0.64%

Punk seems like the best pick at the moment, since I wouldn't imagine they'll give an IC title match to anyone before Punk gets his.  I don't know that Punk will claim the title in the first match, but I'd bet on that feud lasting more than a month.

Results for Armageddon (2008)

A really good show to close off the year and a lot of people's predictions got shaked up!  There was a string of people who all went with the same picks for the big matches - and Cena by submission, Jeff Hardy winning the WWE title, Batista going over Orton, Edge taking the pinfall, and the WWE Championship match going on last all threw those people off!

I've also scored the question about who would be the next WWE champion and ranks have been updated to take that into account.

Thanks again for playing in season 3, and I hope everyone continues to play in season 4!  Things should get interesting with both the Rumble and WrestleMania!

Final Armageddon (2008) Predictions from December 14th

Below is the final WWE Armageddon prediction game, coming in at 125 points to close off Season 3 here at fourdown!  This is your last big chance to try to come out on top with a season-ending prize.  The only remaining opportunities depend on any of the pending questions getting answered before December 21st - the official end to the season is December 20th.  (seasons will always have a week buffer at the end)

You'll notice the divas tag match is not on the game - that's because it wasn't announced until Saturday, and I don't want to force people to update their predictions on Saturday/Sunday if they had predicted by Friday night.  And with only a day's notice, who can really care about that match enough to want to predict it?

Thanks to everyone who's been playing along all season!  You've made this the most exciting season so far!  And of course, with Season 4 lasting from the Royal Rumble until WrestleMania, I expect next season to be WAY more exciting!

I will be posting an update about the fantasy game soon, also.  I don't expect to have it completely ready to go for season 4, but hopefully it won't be too long.  I want to make sure it's completely bug-free and ready to go when I launch it.

Armageddon (2008) Predictions from December 12th

Below are the current predictions from our users for WWE's Armageddon, coming at us Sunday night on PPV.

Please note this is not the finalized card, as I'm waiting for Smackdown to air before I round out the card to its final place at 125 points (taking into account anything announced tonight during the broadcast for the PPV).

Also, this is the first prediction game with the Drunkcast shout-out prizes!  If you haven't seen any of the blog posts about the show yet, it's airing tonight so it's the perfect time to tune in and see what it's about.  To listen live tonight, you'll want to visit http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Edward-Loredo and the show is set to start at 9:00PM Eastern.  Please keep in mind this show may not be suitable for children!  I think the name probably gives that away, but figure I should reiterate since we have quite a few young players here.  If you have any questions you want to submit for tonight's show, make sure to visit Peach's blog post - http://www.fourdown.org/blog.cfm/306-user/2008/12/10/New-Entry? - and leave any questions you have there.  You can also find the number to the show there, if you'd like to call in.

And this is the FINAL PPV of Season 3!  This is your last chance to get in line for the season-ending prizes, and then season 4 will kick off, starting everyone back off with a clean slate.

Slammy's & Next WWE Champ Predictions from December 8th

Tonight is the 3 hour Slammy's edition of Raw.  Since the announcement of the big three matches involving the 6 people in line for the Superstar of the Year Slammy award, we've had questions posted on the site asking our users what they think will be happening tonight.

First up, we asked who would be the Superstar of the Year, and then we asked who would be winning each of the three big matches:

Surprisingly, the no contest finish did not get as many votes as I would have thought!  Will we really see three clean finishes tonight?  It's doubtful, but I'd have to think one will be clean, one will have a finish (but not be clean), and one will not have a finish at all.  Logic seems to dictate that the title vs title match will be the one with no finish, but we'll find out soon!

Also, we've been asking lately who everyone thinks will be the next WWE Champion.  You still have time to get your pick in for this question, and here are the current results:

Predictions from http://www.fourdown.org

(WWE) Who will be the next WWE Champion?
This question ends on 12/13/2008

-- 4-Down Note: "The WWE Champion at the time of this question is Edge."

Overall Percentages:
Jeff Hardy : 67.05%
Triple H : 20.81%
Undertaker : 5.20%
Anyone else : 3.76%
Mr. Kennedy : 1.16%
Big Show : 0.87%
Vladimir Kozlov : 0.87%
MVP : 0.29%

And don't forget to get your picks in for WWE's Armageddon, coming this Sunday!  This is the final PPV of season 3!
