Site Updates, October 4th
I've been pushing the most recent updates live over the past few hours. Also noticed quite a few bugs that I guess no one let me know about, and they're all fixed now!
First, the bug fixes:
If you were having trouble answering questions on the site, you shouldn't any longer! In IE6 especially, a lot of the AJAX calls were getting cached. I tend to only use Firefox myself when I'm not at work and testing things for clients, but tonight I decided to check everything out in IE6 and 7. I wasn't pleased!
In addition to that bug, the PPV pages, user pages, and league pages were all messed up in IE6 and 7. I had an HTML comment before my DOCTYPE tag, which Firefox is cool with - but in IE, it would screw the page up something fierce. A little surprised no one mentioned this one, though maybe we're all using Firefox?
There was another small bug in IE with any tabbed interfaces on the site. There was extra whitespace in the tabs. That's gone now.
And the new site features/improvements:
Polls are now open. You'll see a new Voting section on the left nav of the site. Polls are in there, and this is also the "home" section for the wrestler and show reviews. You can still participate in all these things from the Command page of course, but the Voting page gives more details. (Command is meant to be a quick-and-easy page for making sure you've participated in everything at the site, it's not meant to be a place to get in deep into the data) I stuck up a basic first poll for fun.
Yeah, Fantasy is a link on the left. It's a little bit of a trick. Not really, I just want to make sure new visitors see that it's coming and I had already placed the link on the nav, so I just left it and built a small little detail page.
Command page has a concise section for all the HTML/BBCode/Plain-text delivery pages on the site. I also added two new delivery pages - one for Polls, and one for Wrestler Reviews.
All percentage listings on the site now are in descending order by the % picked. So the top-picked items will always show up first. Should make looking at the data a bit easier. I'm thinking of having a toggle to go between this order and the standard order, but that's not really a priority.
I did some updates to the look of the percentage listings, too. Hopefully it's a bit easier to read now.
Also, I finally finished multiple choice standalone questions. I had done it for PPV questions before, but now I can do it for any of them.
A fun night for sure. The fantasy game is the only real priority for me now, so things should speed up with the development.
