Multiple choice questions!
Oh yeah, I've been working like mad lately with improvements for the site getting ready for season 3!
I just finished the code for multiple choice questions. When I enter the question, I can add: Requires All Answers, Incorrect Points, and Bonus Points. (along with flagging the question as multiple choice)
Basically, for multiple choice questions, the point total I enter (say, 5 points) is awarded for each correct answer you get. If you get any wrong answers, the Incorrect Points (actually, (Abs(incorrect_points)*-1) - to be safe!) gets subtracted from your points total for the question. And if you get all the answers right with no wrong answers, you'll get the bonus points added on. (for either incorrect or bonus, I can set them to 0 and those are just ignored)
But the Requires All Answers flag, if I've set it, means you get the amount of points multiplied by the amount of correct answers if and only if you got all the right answers with no incorrect answers.
There is one tiny little problem - there could be cases where I won't know how many correct answers there will be ahead of time. If that happens, I won't know before the PPV has finished what the total possible points will be! So I'll have to be a little careful with the points for it. :)
I'm a little scared to launch this feature because it took an entire rework of the way questions are scored and displayed on the site (since before it was 1-to-1 between answers and results, now there could be users with 2 answers but there were 4 in the actual results). But I'm testing it and I'm hoping to be ready to use it soon.
I've only done it for questions inside of PPVs, but I'm going to extend it to the "free-floating" questions as well. (technically they're the same thing in the database, but different codebases to score/display them)
