Just saying... Episode 1.

cymru96

Hello all, it's me. This is my first proper blog for a while so I might be rusty!

In a new format, this will give thoughts on current goings on and my thoughts and stuff.

TNA X-division

So, in a week in which we find out that Jesse Sorensen is going to be out injured for up to a year with his broken neck and that Brian Kendrick has left the company, I'm going to look at what it does for the division.

First, the champion. Austin Aries. One of the best fighters on the whole roster. Although he is only champion of the X-Division at the minute, he will surely be a main eventer and challenging for the World Heavyweight title. He has in ring skills and exellent mic work.

FACT- Austin Aries has held 11 titles across various promotions, including the ROH World Championship, a title that he has held twice.

Alex Shelley- He is easily the most mainstay member of the division. He could easily be the bridge to stabilising the division if/when Aries moves up.

Chris Sabin- Has been out injured since June and could be in for a return in months. Could be a key member of a feud involving Shelley as he could tease turning Heel with the whole jealous tag partner gimmick.

Kazarian- The 5 time champion is currently involved with Christopher Daniels and neither look set to return to the division. This is good because together they have had 9 reigns and 518 days combined. They have has success out of the division and hopefully Aries and others can follow this path and give space for the next generation.

Kid Kash- The oldest member of the division, and one of the best. Realistically, is not going to do much more and should be used in the same way as now, putting over guys like Sorensen and Ion.

Mark Haskins- His TNA future is unknown as he has not appeared for several weeks. This is a shame as he has talent, as shown in his match at destination X against Doug Williams.

Doug Williams- When he returns from India, he should be put around the title contendership, perhaps in a feud with Zema Ion or Kid Kash.

Robbie E- The television champion is rumored to be in Ohio Valley Wrestling to improve on his skills. I hope he is back in the X-Divison soon because his gimmick, along with Robbie T is amazing

Shannon Moore- I like Shannon Moore. I liked Ink Inc but I feel that Shannon can do much more on his own. He is currently being used to put over the likes of Robbie E and Zema Ion but I think that he could easily be in the higher reaches of the division.

Zema Ion- Is a solid heel and TNA seem to be building him into a big time player. I doubt that he will beat Austin Aries at Victory road. So long as they stay clear of turning the Sorensen injury into an agle, then he will do very well.

FACT- Zema Ion was voted 395 on the 2011 PWI 500.

Ok, I was going to talk about other stuff but time is short so that's for another time.

Feedback appreciated.

Peace out.

and you could also add into that, chavo if he comes back over from india would definatly be in the x division, i would like to see alex shelly have another reign as x division champ soon, and i must say i really hope that tna does not screw up and split up the machine guns, tnas tag division needs them, too many tag teams get split up these days, its getting a bit boring too watch all these tag partners fighting each other, we have had to sit through bully ray and devon, beer moneys split, now it will likely be morgan vs crimson, do we really want that that be followed by the machine guns split and turning on each other, i hope not, break the trend i say, give one of them a push towards the main event, hopefully at the same time aries gets his push, and have the partner stay together. also id bring aj styles back into the x division mix up if they are not gonna push him back into the main event once this kaz daniels thing is over :D

First of all, I'd like to opine that Alex Shelley is quite overrated. He plays to the crowd more than any wrestler since the 80s. It comes off as phony and I don't like it much. But when paired with the superior wrestler, Sabin, they are an all-time great team.

mikeydmu07, I totally agree with you that breaking up tag teams is an overused storyline that has just gotten tiresome. TNA has yet to realize that not everyone on their roster can be World Champion. They try to push everyone all at once and it buries a lot of talent. You mentioned AJ Styles going back to X Division. I think that would be a crying shame. AJ is the best performer on the roster and he has had a couple of wasted years since Bischoff and Hogan arrived.

i agree, aj is one of tnas brightest, it just seems that hes gonna be overlooked as far as world champion goes so i think they could do more with him back in the x division, they do push too many people at one time, they made the mistake of pushing james storm with robert roode, while already having 3 or 4 people in the world title picture already, i personally dont see the x division as a step down for aj also, the x division is what built tna into what it is today, and it has been since hogan and bischoffs arival that it has been overlooked and quite simply tna has been lacking something since then, i believe the x division title to be just as important as the world title, and probably without it tna wouldnt be what it is 2day. lets hope zema ion does not win that title anytime soon, i think jesse sorenson was probably ment to beat aries at the next ppv so i see no sense in ion winning it

The X Division Title should be on equal ground to the World Title or at least close. But since X Division matches are on the bottom of every Impact card.

...I don't think the TNA brass think the same way.
