The AWA presents: The revival of a legendary promotion

TDWOwner

The opening pyro explodes as the newest program on the Worldwide Wrestling Network; American Wrestling Association comes onto the air live from Minneapolis Minnesota! The fans in the AWA Arena are cheering very loudly as our commentators Jerry Lawler and Matt Stryker welcome the viewers to the show!

Lawler: “Hello and welcome to the revival episode of the American Wrestling Association. We are live from Minneapolis Minnesota, the original hometown of this great company. And tonight we have a lot of great matches in store, Matt tell them about it!”

Stryker: “Thanks Jerry, but before I talk about the match card I would just like to say that I’m honored to be doing commentary alongside a wrestling legend like you, not to mention a former AWA Wrestler! But as for the matches planned, the United States Champion Jay Lethal well compete against Colt Cabana in a non-title match which should be extremely entertaining. Also Bryan Danielson and John Morrison collide in the ring. And we have a huge main event to name a number one contender for Brock Lesnar’s AWA World Heavyweight Championship!”

Lawler: “Thank you Matt and tonight well be awesome. Let’s head to the ring now where our GM Jim Ross is going to address the AWA fan universe!”

Jim Ross’s music hits and he comes down to the ring to a huge reaction from the fans. He gets in the ring and a crew member hands him a mic and he begins to speak,
“Hello ladies and gentleman, boys and girls. Welcome this is the revival of AWA. Are you all excited?” The fans cheer big for Jim Ross, and clearly they are excited. “Well that’s good to know! Tonight is going to be awesome, and the AWA is going to establish itself as the best wrestling promotion in the world as we build to our first PPV of the year, SuperClash. And this will be the fifth SuperClash event in AWA’s history, and will be at the original city where the first ever SuperClash took place, in one of the most popular wrestling cities, Chicago Illinois!”

The fans go wild, but just then Drew McIntyre’s music hits and the fans erupt in boos. Drew comes out clapping slowly with a mic in his hand. He climbs into the ring and stands face to face with JR.

McIntyre: “Oh SuperClash sounds awesome JR. But you know what would make it amazing, if you would put me in the main event at SuperClash against John Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship!”

The fans boo Drew heavily as JR answers back, “Now don’t get me wrong Drew, a match between you and Brock would be entertaining. But I’m not big on handed out free matches. So I will give you chance to earn the title shot against Lesnar in tonight’s main event. A four way match to determine a number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship!” Drew nods his head then walks off to heat, as Justin Roberts climbs into the ring to make introductions for the first match.

Roberts: “Introducing first from Aberdeen Washington! Bryan Danielson!”

Bryan Danielson walks out to a lot of heat with his manager AW. The fans boo Danielson as he climbs in the ring and just yells at the fans who are booing him.

Roberts: “And his opponent from Las Angeles California! John Morrison!”

JoMo comes out to a nice reaction. He does his cool entrance and the fans love it. He
walks down to the ring and looks prepared for this match up.

The bell rings and the two wrestlers lock up. Morrison goes behind Danielson and tries for a belly to back suplex. But Bryan quickly reverses the move and goes behind Morrison. Then Bryan tries for a suplex but John reverses it and goes behind Bryan and kicks him in the back of the ring. John then whips Danielson into the ropes and on the rebound nails a hip toss. He then hits the ropes himself and returns for a leg drop. But AW pulls Bryan out of the ring and JoMo hits the canvas hard.

Morrison looks pissed as Danielson and AW strategize outside of the ring. Bryan begins to climb onto the apron but John kicks him in the stomach, and then goes to flip him over the ropes for a fisherman drop but Bryan pushes John back. Then Bryan springboards into the ring and connects with a crossbody on Danielson and nocks him to the mat. Bryan then covers, 1…2…NO! Morrison got a foot on the bottom rope and breaks the hold.

Danielson then stands up Morrison and goes to whip him into the corner. But Morrison reverses it and whips Bryan into the corner. But as Bryan reaches the corner he jumps up to the second rope and when John comes charging for a clothesline, Danielson does a back flip over John then unleashes an attack of kicks to Morrison’s midsection.
Danielson then pushes John to the center of the ring and hits a spinning heel kick. Now Bryan covers again, but he gets another two count. Danielson then quickly transitions into a figure four leglock submission hold on Morrison. And John is struggling to reach the ropes, can he make it? He is clawing at the canvas! He does it Morrison reached the ropes and Danielson is forced to break the hold.

Both men stand and Danielson charges for a clothesline. But John drops to his stomach on the mat and Bryan hits the ropes again. But when he returns Morrison is back on his feet and nails a roundhouse kick. And Bryan falls into the corner. Now Morrison charges the corner and nails the Starship Pain. And now he covers, 1…2…3! And Morrison took the victory. AW looks pissed and pulls Danielson out of the ring and begins to yell at him as they walk up the ramp

Commercial Break

We return and backstage we see Sting walking around. Hulk Hogan accidently bumps into Sting, and for some reason Sting gets really mad.

Sting: “Watch it Hogan. Don’t be stepping up on me like that. Or I might have to teach you a lesson!”

Hogan: “Easy brother, I don’t want to have to whoop you’re a**!”

Sting shoves Hogan then walks off. There definitely seems to be some tension between those two.

Back in the ring Eve and Gail Kim are set to wrestle. The bell rings and the two women lock up. Gail uses dirty tactics and grabs Eve by the hair, kicks her in the stomach, then throws her to the mat. Gail then bounces off the ropes, and when she rebounds she drops a leg across her chest. Gail then transitions into a pin that gets a one count.

Kim quickly stands her opponent up and tosses her into the corner. She returns charging and connects with a clothesline. She then pushes Eve out to the center of the ring and nails a dropkick that sends Eve spilling over the top rope and to the floor! We are now headed to commercial, but don’t change the channel because we will be back shortly!

Commercial Break

Were back and we see in a replay that Gail beat the hell out of Eve outside of the ring, and now has her back in the ring and is pounding on her in the corner. After attacking with a flurry of rights and lefts Gail kicks Eve in the knee, and Eve falls to the mat. Gail then climbs to the top rope and dives for an elbow drop. But Eve rolls out of the way and Kim hits the mat really hard, and Eve slowly climbs on top of her for a pin that gets a really close two count!

Both women slowly stand and they charge each other. Eve ducks a clothesline and stops as Gail hits the ropes again. Gail returns as Eve tries for an enzuigiri. But Gail ducks it and rolls Eve up into a small package, one…two…three! And Gail picked up the victory. Gail takes heat as she stands above Eve and celebrates!

Roberts: “Here is your winner Gail Kim!”

Backstage JB is with the AWA World Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar.

JB: “Brock tonight’s main event is a four way match to determine a number one contender for your championship. And earlier tonight Drew McIntyre was named as one of the wrestlers in that match, and he seems pretty confident in his ability to earn that spot!”

Lesnar: “Look JB I don’t care who wins the main event because honestly it won’t matter. Because whoever steps in the ring with me at SuperClash will get their a** kicked. Because that’s what I do, I’m a** kicker!”

JB: “You do have a lot of talent in the ring Brock. Thanks for your time!”

Brock walks off smiling, as we go back to the ring for the next match!

Roberts: “Ladies and gentleman the following match is set for one fall and features the United States Champion in a non-title bout. Now making his way to the ring, the United States Champion, Jay Lethal!”

Jay walks out with his title slung over his shoulder. He struts down to the ring receiving a lot of heat. He climbs into the ring as Roberts introduces his opponent.

Roberts: “And his opponent from Marietta Georgia! Cody Rhodes!”

Rhodes walks out to a decent reaction. He stands on the stage for a moment before heading to the ring. He looks prepared for this match up. But as he is climbing into the ring Jay Lethal grabs him and pulls him in a side headlock. Jay then begins to unleash forearm smashes across Cody’s back. Jay then tries for a fisherman suplex, but Rhodes reverses and goes behind Lethal and twists his opponents arm behind his back. Lethal is clearly in pain as Cody pushes Lethal face first into the corner ring post.

Cody then charges and nails a corner dropkick that sends Jay crashing to the mat. Cody crawls over on Lethal and covers but only gets a one count. Cody then stands up Jay but gets shoved into the ropes. But when Rhodes returns he elbows Jay in the jaw, then jumps on his opponents back and tries for a sleeper hold. But Lethal still alert runs backwards into the ring post, and Rhodes loses his grip and falls to the mat. Jay backs off and allows Cody to stand but as soon as Cody is up Jay nails a big boot to the face of Rhodes. Lethal drops down and pins which gets a two count. We go to commercial with this great battle still going down!

Commercial Break

Back from the break and Jay Lethal is standing up on the outside of the ring. And here comes Cody Rhodes flying over the ropes in a suicide dive and he collides with Jay and the two men crash into the fan barrier. Both men are down and the ref begins his ten count. Both men stand up at five. And Rhodes goes to whip Jay into the ring post, but Jay counters and actually whips Cody into the steel post.

Lethal then pushes Cody into the ring and covers, one…two...no! Rhodes got a shoulder up just in time. Both men stand and before they can attack each other Christopher Daniels music hits the PA system. Jay and Cody look to the stage but Daniels is a no show. No wait Daniels just jumped the barrier with a chair and Cody and Jay don’t see him. He gets in the ring and hits Jay in the back of the head. Lethal falls to the mat as Cody turns but also gets hit with the chair. Christopher Daniels strikes both men once more before the security come down to the ring and walk him off to the backstage area.

We then head over to the commentators table where Jerry Lawler and Matt Stryker discuss the events that have taken place so far.

Lawler: “Will that was interesting. Why do you think Christopher Daniels came out here and attacked those two?”

Stryker: “It’s obvious he probably wants Jay Lethal’s championship. And he will do anything to get attention from our GM Jim Ross!”

Lawler: “Well he sure is getting attention in a stupid way! How about John Morrison with his impressive win?”

Stryker: “JoMo is great every time I see that guy wrestler he impresses. He has so much potential. It was a shame how he was disrespected in the WWE!”

Lawler: “Well it’s now time for our main event!”

In the ring Jim Ross has a mic and begins to talk, “Ladies and gentleman it is now time for the main event of the evening. It is my honor to welcome the wrestlers that will be competing in this match to come to the ring now!” As Jim Ross stops talking the competitors come out. Drew McIntyre is out first, followed by Randy Orton, then Bobby Roode, and Matt Morgan. All the men climb into the ring and separate into the four corners. JR continues, “Gentleman this match is to determine a number one contender for the AWA World Heavyweight Championship! Good luck to you! Now go!”

Jim Ross quickly flees the ring but before he goes Drew McIntyre quickly steals the mic from his hand and attacks Randy Orton with it. But that is completely legal in a four way match, because anything goes! Meanwhile Bobby Roode and Matt Morgan are trading blows in one of the corners. But eventually Matt Morgan blocks a punch and then picks up Roode and slams his back into the ring post. Morgan then turns around as Drew McIntyre whips Orton towards him. And Orton and Morgan collide and crash to the mat. And Drew McIntyre shows off.

But here comes Bobby Roode comes running towards McIntyre. But Drew is ready for the attack and he picks up Roode and nails a back drop. McIntyre then stands up Roode but gets punched in the jaw. Roode then kicks Drew in the stomach then follows it up with a facebuster. Roode covers quickly but Randy Orton got back to his feet and broke up the pin. Orton then stands up McIntyre and throws him out of the ring. But then Bobby dropkicks Randy and Randy spills over the top rope and crashes into Drew McIntyre.

It is now Matt Morgan and Bobby Roode in the ring and they lock up. Matt easily overpowers Bobby and nails a big body slam. Matt quickly pins Bobby’s shoulders to the mat, one…two…no! Bobby Roode kicked out. Meanwhile on the outside of the ring Orton deflects a right hand from Drew, grabs his opponent by the neck, and then whips him into the fan barrier. Orton then charges and punts McIntyre in the head!

Randy then turns around but to his surprise Morgan baseball slides under the bottom rope and kicks him in the chest. But before Matt can even continue his attack Bobby Roode comes flying over the top rope and lands on Matt’s back. And now Roode is trying for a headlock submission on Morgan. But if Morgan taps out it won’t matter because their outside of the ring! That doesn’t matter anyway because Matt Morgan just pulled Roode over his shoulder and slammed him onto the floor!

But then Randy Orton kicks Matt Morgan in the knee, and nails an RKO out of nowhere! But Drew McIntyre then grabs Orton and smashes his face against the edge of the ring apron, and then pushes him back into the ring. Now Drew climbs up to the top rope from the outside of the ring. Randy is rising to his feet. McIntyre dives for a clothesline, but Orton nails a RKO in midair. Both men are down and Orton slowly but surely crawls over to Drew McIntyre and pins him, one…two…three! And Randy Orton did it! Randy Orton just pinned Drew McIntyre and will be facing Brock Lesnar at SuperClash for the AWA World Heavyweight Championship!

Roberts: “Here is your winner and the new number one contender for the AWA World Heavyweight Championship! Randy Orton!”

Randy Orton is celebrating when suddenly Drew McIntyre attacks Randy Orton from behind with a kendo stick. Now McIntyre is stomping on a downed Orton. But here comes Brock Lesnar with the whole AWA male roster following him down the ramp. They charge the ring and break up the fight! But Drew McIntyre punches Brock in the face! Now Brock is pissed, and Lesnar spears Drew to the mat and unloads with haymakers! And McIntyre is busted open and the crowd is chanting, “This is awesome!” Now Security rushes the ring, and it takes all of the security and the entire AWA male roster to separate Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton from Drew McIntyre! And AWA goes off the air after that complete chaos!
