Armageddon Predictions from Cletus

Here's what I think will happen tonight at Armageddon.  I'm going to try and pick for the most part what I think WWE will have happen, though for the World Heavyweight match, I might veer off a tad bit.

*** Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Chris Jericho vs. John Cena (c) 

My Prediction: Chris Jericho, Pinfall, Yes - interference

So yeah, here's the one I'm going to pick going against the odds.  Since most people are counting on Batista vs Cena at WrestleMania, and Batista is currently 1-0 against Cena, I think it makes the most sense to have Cena challenging Batista for the title at WM.  With that in mind, this is one of the last opportunities to set that in motion.  You do the quick change back to Jericho, then have Batista challenge Jericho at the Rumble (or No Way Out).  I'd have a Smackdown guy win the Rumble, so at No Way Out you have Batista winning the title (effectively pushing Jericho out of the main event at WM), and Cena winning the Elimination Chamber.  That leaves over a month to build the match - No Way Out is February 15th while WrestleMania is April 5th.  Plenty of time to properly build that match, and I'd assume they'd start a push to it at the Rumble.

*** Match for the WWE Championship
Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Edge (c) 

My Prediction: Edge, Pinfall, No - no interference

I don't see Edge dropping the title until WrestleMania, nor do I see them taking the title off him so quickly when he just returned to action (while Cena wouldn't be hurt by it, I think it would hurt a heel). 

*** Vladimir Kozlov vs. Matt Hardy

My Prediction: Vladimir Kozlov, Pinfall, No - no interference

Yawn.  Hopefully Kozlov does better in this match than he did against HHH, though what does that say about HHH if Hardy can carry Kozlov to a better match than he did?  I don't see Hardy being the one to stop Kozlov's streak (I'm actually going with Umaga to do that!) and this will probably lead to a Jeff Hardy vs Kozlov singles match in the future.

*** Batista vs. Randy Orton

My Prediction: Randy Orton, Pinfall, Yes - interference

Don't see them debuting the Legacy on Monday and then have them suffer a huge loss right away.  The only other option would be a DQ finish, which I think has the next best chance of happening.

*** Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk

My Prediction: CM Punk, Pinfall, Yes - interference

Gotta push the Knox/Rey feud, so I see Knox costing Rey the match.  And now that they took the tag belts away from Punk/Kofi, I think it's clear Punk is winning the IC title this year to complete theseries of Raw titles he's won in 2008.

*** Belfast Brawl Match,
Mark Henry vs. Finlay

My Prediction: Finlay

I'd think Henry will have to wait for the next ECW champion to be crowned before he's back in contention, so I'd put Finlay over Henry and build to a Finlay/Hardy match for the title.

*** Who will take the fall in the WWE Championship match?

My Prediction: Triple H

Since I think Hardy/Edge in a singles match is the next direction for the WWE title, I have to pick HHH here.  I've also heard rumblings of a possible move of HHH back to Raw, so this would be good for the brand if he puts over the top guys before switching back.

*** Will either Christian Cage or Tyson Tomko make an appearance at Armageddon?

My Prediction: Neither man will make an appearance

Hopefully happening soon, but I don't know about this soon.

*** Will Stephanie and/or Shane McMahon interfere in any match at the PPV?

My Prediction: No

Personally I think one of them should have some involvement, or what's the point of the angle?  But I don't have that much faith in WWE making that storyline relevant to any of the wrestling angles going on on Raw, so I'm going to go with no.

*** How many titles will change hands at Armageddon?

My Prediction: 1

The World Heavyweight title.  Though they could also give us Punk/Regal on the PPV as a surprise.

*** Which match will be the final match of the PPV?

My Prediction: The World Heavyweight Championship Match

Yeah, Cena is a lock for the closing match anytime he's on a show.
