Thoughts after the 07/28 Raw..
Here are my thoughts on Raw last night, in order of significance:
- Why in the hell are they pulling the trigger on Cena/Batista at SummerSlam? Isn't the return of The Undertaker, in a Hell in a Cell match no less, a big enough deal with at least one decent world title match underneath it? They're potentially ruining a future WrestleMania moment, and for what? A match that right now has very little build? Don't know what they're thinking.
- And Adamle was a little bit of a let-down for me. I kinda like him on commentary, but if they try to make him a heel I don't know if I'll be as interested. We'll have to see. I would much prefer him as a bit of a doofus, with good intentions but poor execution.
- Santino and Jamie Noble are the best things that have happened to Raw in a long time. I'm wondering if a tag team would work..
- Glad to see Regal back on TV and I hope it's for good (meaning, I hope he doesn't screw it up). I buy him as a top tier guy now, and after a few months of solid booking, I see him as yet another possible main eventer on Raw.
Now for some thoughts on what I'd like to see:

Keep in mind that SummerSlam is traditionally the second-biggest show of the year with the Royal Rumble and Survivor Series having their titular matches to make things interesting. It's definitely lost it's luster over the years but I don't mind Cena/Batista, even if it's not for the title. They're definitely not "ruining a future WrestleMania moment" if they do this once and with that plus the HitC it's already a good-looking card and we're not even looking at the title matches yet. Trips/Khali is okay, I'd rather a bigger match since this screams "filler squash until Trips feuds with Big Show" but it could be a lot worse. I agree on Punk/Jericho, HBK shouldn't come back until Survivor Series and there's nothing for Jericho to do but go for a title shot since Kane and JBL can easily have their own feud. Oh, I think SummerSlam is shaping up to be a great card, don't get me wrong. But I feel a little short-changed as a fan because there are only two weeks to build up to what should be the biggest dream match on Raw. And let's be honest - it's not like we're expecting this to be a technical masterpiece that needs very little story behind it. If this match isn't as great as everyone hopes, do you think it will be a huge selling point if it main events WM?
