Thoughts after the 08/04 Raw..

Just a few notes.. I'll be posting a new predictions entry fairly soon, so this will be quick.
- What happened to Jericho's tights? Please go back to wearing them.
- Winner take all tag team match? Couldn't it just be "if the woman wins, she gets the women's title" and "if the man wins, he gets the IC title" and leave it at that?
- What is the point of having Cena and Batista as the tag team champions? Did their match at SummerSlam NEED that? Absolutely not. Why sacrifice the push of two fresh faces for a match they shouldn't be doing so soon anyway? I was shocked they went this way.
- So we could have Cena and Batista as tag champions, and Beth Phoenix as the intercontinental champion. I wouldn't rule out both Khali and JBL winning the titles at this rate. Somebody on creative should be speaking up about this insanity.
I enjoyed the show again but I'm worried WWE is taking a lot of steps in the wrong direction that could end up hurting the show down the line.
Actually, maybe I misinterpretted the stipulation in the winner takes all tag team match. I assumed that meant the winner won both titles (since Santino was talking about getting the women's title, and Phoenix about the IC title), but on WWE.com it looks like the "team" gets the titles. That's still a little suspect - is it automatic that the guy gets IC, girl gets women's? I'd assume that but could end up an angle.

After the segment on RAW, I also thought that the stipulation was that the winner who made the pinnfall received both titles. So I was sure we were on our way to a Beth IC champion or Santino Woman's Championship reign. To be honest I'm glad that isn't the actual stipulation though. 8/10/08 6:29 PM |

I'm assuming that the tag match for the Women's and IC has something to do with Phoenix being pushed as the next Chyna with Santino as her manager. 8/11/08 3:37 PM |
