Hell in a Cell Predictions from Cletus

Here are my predictions for tomorrow night's WWE PPV, Hell in a Cell.  So far I've only got one confirmed challenger in thephenom - but I'm waiting to hear back from a few people who had sent challenges in.  I'm likely going to drop down to only accepting one challenger per show now, though - it's a little tough following 4 different scores through a PPV!

I'm excited for this show, I think it will end up being pretty good.  I haven't seen much anticipation around various wrestling forums though!  Hopefully I'm right to be excited!

*** Hell in a Cell Match, for the WWE Championship
Randy Orton vs. John Cena (c) 

My Prediction: John Cena, Pinfall, No - no interference

My Thoughts: Cena is always the smart pick so I'm going with him retaining.  I'm a little iffy on it since Cena closed off Raw strong over Orton (and I tuned out of Smackdown last night after The Rock - though I really should check the results again to see how that ended).  But if Orton takes the title - who does he feud with?  Cena and HHH feuds are tired.  I would be cool with an HBK feud, but it hasn't been that long.  I don't see WWE pushing MVP or Henry up the card - though I would love to be wrong on this one if it means MVP or Henry ends up feuding with Legacy and Orton.  (almost makes sense since they've been tagging!) 

And for some reason I have this weird feeling Bragging Rights might not do cross-brand matches for the title holders - there's something in me that says US vs WWE and IC vs WHC matches would be a cool idea for the show in addition to the cross-brand matches.  So going with that new hope, John Cena vs Jack Swagger or The Miz makes more sense than Randy Orton vs Kofi Kingston. 

Anyway..  yeah, I'll stick with Cena, and I doubt I have to rely on crazy ideas to justify the pick!

*** Hell in a Cell Match, for the World Heavyweight Championship
Undertaker vs. CM Punk (c) 

My Prediction: CM Punk, Pinfall, Yes - interference

My Thoughts: Don't know how they're going to do it yet, but I'm betting on some kind of interference to result in Punk retaining.  Taker doesn't need the belt again, and Punk can defend it more often than Taker could.  Vince interference?  I could see that.

*** Hell in a Cell Match,
Ted DiBiase Jr & Cody Rhodes vs. Shawn Michaels & Triple H

My Prediction: Shawn Michaels & Triple H, Pinfall, No - no interference

My Thoughts: I wouldn't say I'm 100% confident that D-X will win, but I'd say at least 75%.  Should be the end of the feud.  I think it will be a hard fought victory for D-X, though - I don't think Legacy will look like punks in the match at all.

*** Match for the Unified Tag Team Championship
Batista & Rey Mysterio vs. Big Show (c)  & Chris Jericho (c) 

My Prediction: Batista & Rey Mysterio, Pinfall, No - no interference

My Thoughts: It's a struggle to think who would be next to challenge Jericho and Show next for the titles if they retain.  I see more fun possibilities with Mysterio and Batista as champs.  I think this is a risky pick for me, but I'm going for it.

*** Match for the Intercontinental Championship
Dolph Ziggler vs. John Morrison (c) 

My Prediction: John Morrison, Pinfall, No - no interference

My Thoughts: I can see Ziggler becoming a bigger star over the next year, but Morrison is still climbing high and I don't think it'd make sense to give him a loss to Ziggler right now.  They can revisit this feud in a year and go with a different result.

*** Match for the United States Championship
The Miz vs. Jack Swagger vs. Kofi Kingston (c) 

My Prediction: The Miz, No - no interference

My Thoughts: It's been blowing my mind how much WWE has been messing around with The Miz - first the crushing defeats against Cena (when Miz was really bringing it on the mic and could have jumped a level if WWE had booked him stronger) and then the promo about taking the US title and then the losses following it.  I'm hoping Miz comes out with the title.  Beating both Kofi and Swagger in one match could fuel some fun promos.

*** Match for the Diva's Championship
Alicia Fox vs. Mickie James (c) 

My Prediction: Alicia Fox, Pinfall, Yes - interference

My Thoughts: Another risky pick, but I think it's time to switch this title.  And I haven't thought Mickie's been having as great of matches in recent months as she is capable of..  I wouldn't doubt WWE feels the same way and wants to try something new.

*** Will Edge and/or Vickie Guerrero interfere in the World Heavyweight Championship match?

My Prediction: Neither will interfere

My Thoughts: I do have some sneaking suspicion that Edge will make some kind of appearance soon, but I'm not going to go with the risky pick here.

*** Who will be pinned or made to submit in the United States Championship match?

My Prediction: Kofi Kingston

My Thoughts: If either Miz or Swagger wins, I think Kofi should take the fall.  I can't remember the last time he lost a match - to Bourne maybe?

*** Will Vince McMahon make a live appearance at Hell in a Cell?

My Prediction: Yes

My Thoughts: I think he'll be there, whether or not he interferes in Punk/Taker or not.

*** Which match will be the first match of the PPV?

My Prediction: D-Generation X vs Legacy

*** Which match will be the final match of the PPV?

My Prediction: The World Heavyweight Championship Match

*** How many titles will change hands at Hell in a Cell?

My Prediction: 2
