My Pictures With Wrestlers (and McMahons)

We had a blog post here a while back from wwefan18 about wrestlers he'd met, and a lot of people chipped in with comments of wrestlers they'd met.

Well, I get emails pretty often asking where my pictures with the McMahons are from (you could have seen them before on the About page, but I'll include them below), so I figured I might as well stick up all my pictures for fun.

Vince McMahon & Shane McMahon


These two pictures are from October 2001. (so I am 19 years old there) WWE Raw came to Baton Rouge, Louisiana (where I am from).. one of my friends' mom owned a catering company that was catering the WWE private jet. So of course we happily offered to deliver the food! We made it to the private airport before the show and dropped the food off. Then we went to Raw. We left about 20 minutes early so we could skip the traffic, and we drove back to the airport. "To make sure everything was okay with the food!"

We waited a few minutes, and then limos starting pulling up. Michael Hayes, Paul Heyman, any many others started walking through just a few feet in front of us. While I'd have loved to have bothered them to try and get pictures, I wasn't a jerk about to keep these guys from getting some rest on the plane! And then Shane & Vince walked in. Shane walked through and made his way to the plan, while Vince had to stay behind and sign some things. We weren't going to approach him at all, but one of the guys working at the airport (besides me and my friend, there were many two other people there) got him to sign an autograph. So I was like, hey, someone already bothered him.. might as well try for a picture! Vince was super nice. Was very happy to get in a picture. Then Shane popped back in to get Vince, and Shane offered to be in a picture with us, too. Then they walked us over to the jet and let us take a quick look inside.

Crazy thing was Shane was suffering from the flu (even though he wrestled in the main event that night against Kurt Angle) and was still super nice.  Probably the best wrestling-related night I've ever had - hard to top getting to meet Vince and Shane!  I like that I'm proudly sporting a Shawn Michaels t-shirt - he had been retired since 1998 and wasn't going to be returning until the next year. 

The next two pictures don't have quite as cool of stories, but they're the only other two pictures I have anymore.  I did get my picture with Shawn Michaels back in 2001 (just a few months after the above pictures), but lost it.  (still have the autograph at least)  And I did get my picture with Eric Bischoff, too, at a book signing.  That was on a junky cellphone, though, so I didn't keep it.  (still have the autograph in the book, had him sign "You've got three minutes..")

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair


Got this one at RingsideFest 2008 in New York City.  This was fairly soon after Flair had retired from WWE.  (and way before he came back to wrestle in Australia..  and maybe TNA?)  Nothing really memorable here, but it was cool getting to meet him.  He was very nice in person.

Kofi Kingston


And this one is just from last month, RingsideFest 2009.  I won an autograph ticket for Kofi through PWInsiderElite.com, and paid to upgrade it to a photo ticket when I got there.  I doubt I'd have gone if I didn't win the prize, but I'm happy I got to go.  He was really cool, too.  And seems to be getting a huge push now!
