Raw Thoughts for March 30th

Maybe I'll start doing these blogs during Raw regularly..  not like I have anything better to do during commercials anyway!  Helps me remember what happened during Raw that I liked, too.

Starting off with an 18-diva tag match.  I'm assuming these are the officially announced entrants to the Divas Battle Royale.  Perhaps we'll get a run-in by one of the mystery divas?  And I can't be the only one thinking there was going to be enough diva action at WrestleMania..  why give so much away on Raw?  And I don't really want too much of Raw wasted on this..  anyone notice how you can hear the divas asking for the tag way better than you could ever hear the guys waiting for a tag?  Oh, hey, the match is over.  And here's Santino to brighten the segment.  Hope he's getting into the battle royale!

Haha - Jack Tunney reference!  He was the figurehead through some of my favorite years of wrestling.  (what, I was like 10 years old)  I hope he'll really be in the match and this isn't just a cheap pop for all the divas attacking Santino.  Mankini?  Okay, the dancing is Santino back to true form!  He's been getting back on a roll lately.  He's gotta have a part at WrestleMania with the time they've been giving him.  And there's the pop for the divas all attacking him as one unit.

Pretty psyched to see what they do with Orton/HHH. It seems like it'd be best to keep them completely apart tonight, no physical interaction at all. Make us pay for that!

Jericho vs Lawler after the break. Hey, the Gillette Fusion commercial with Cena and Vince McMahon. This commercial always makes me laugh. "Put it back, meathead." LOL

Interested to see what happens in the match with Lawler. Have Jericho take out Piper and Snuka, so Lawler has to take their place. Lawler/Steamboat vs Jericho would be a better match (though the handicap aspect would still suck - why stack the odds against the heel anyway?).

No mention of Mickey Rourke huh. How could they possibly not get him to appear? He could use the publicity now! Oh. There's the mention as the bell rings. Nevermind.

Gotta admit I didn't really watch the match. I would have expected some interference. And Lawler punching Jericho after the bell? Jericho is facing 3 legends at WM25 - shouldn't Jericho get the upper hand tonight? (especially since he's doing the job at WM..) Good promo after it, though. I hope he's back in the world title picture after this program.

HEY! DID YOU KNOW.. JOHN CENA'S 12 ROUNDS DIDN'T FINISH IN THE TOP 5 FOR THE WEEKEND AND WAS BEATEN BY THE ROCK'S MOVIE?

Aww, and you know they were hoping they'd have SOMETHING positive to say during one of those stupid "Did you know?" spots.

Though I shouldn't be laughing.. I have stock in WWE. :O

HBK has been the best he's been in years for this Undertaker program. That's 3 feuds in a row with Shawn pulling off great promos and 3 feuds that each on their own could be considered "feud of the year." For almost a year he's been involved in arguably the best segments on Raw.

Yeah, that's what I was wishing for at WrestleMania. Someone that no wrestling fan has ever heard of.

I was expecting a rehash of the DX segment from either late 97/early 98 where Shawn and Hunter opened the back of the hearse and there were a bunch of women in the back!

Rey's shirt is awesome. Still not sure what this match is.. I can't imagine they're putting JBL and Rey in the ring together tonight? And could they announce a gimmick for Rey/JBL? Something to make it more interesting. Match of 1,000 Tacks? WTF? This is a singles match?? Hopefully there's a good reason for it.

I don't understand why that match finished clean like that.. maybe JBL is going to win at WM and they wanted to give Rey a win ahead of time? Weird!

"In THE WWE" Oh come on!

John Cena vs Big Show up now. Is the show going to close with the HBK/Taker segment or HHH/Orton? Hoping for the former.

So many matches with Cena, Show, and Edge leading up to WM.. I'm getting sick of seeing them, that isn't a good way to build to the big match!

I did like seeing Big Show win, though. Though it seemed to heavily indicate Cena is winning the title come Sunday.

Loved this HBK/Taker segment from Raw. Not planning on writing anything during this part of Raw! Though I'm guessing Undertaker is in that casket. :)

Well, maybe he isn't. I'm still expecting him to come up from below that top layer though.

Yeah, suck it Undertaker. Cocky Shawn Michaels is still the best thing in wrestling.

I can't stop loving this song choice for this Austin video package.

Why the hell is Lawler still in his ring gear? That match was over an hour ago!

An 8-man Battle Royale with the Money in the Bank participants up next. My favorite type of match! Let's find out who won't be winning the match this Sunday. I'm gonna predict Henry to win this match tonight.

I had completely forgotten about Hardy vs Hardy when I was thinking about the card tonight. You'd think they'd have done more to push that match tonight.

Dang it, Henry out.

Kinda trailed off there.. just updated the WrestleMania prediction game. Added some more choices for the Diva Battle Royale (Trish Stratus, Sunny, Mae Young, Chyna, and Goldust - none confirmed, so pick at your own risk!) and rounded the game out at an even 200 points. I went with 200 points since the prize is $50. And please note the rules for ties in the help section! (will only be one person awarded the prize)

But then season prizes will be going out later in April. That'll be Amazon gift certificates of $35 for the overall season winner, and a $25 one each to the winners of WWE and TNA for the season. If you're one of the new players who came here for WrestleMania, you'll be starting off at 0 points with everyone else soon enough for the new season.

What's up with HHH always late to the show?

Yeah, Vince! I might be crazy but I always like seeing him. Hey, Shane's even better! Best theme song in the business! They should've saved Shane-O-Mac for third.

Kind of a silly ending, but the crowd was really into it so I think it was okay. Still think they should have kept them apart. Makes sense if Orton is going over at WM, though.
