Random WrestleMania 25 (2009) Predictions from March 7th

I figured I would have some fun and use the Random Pick for WrestleMania.  I'm eventually going to do my real picks, but I thought I'd try to make sense of the random picks.  Some of them ended up being likely, some of them not so likely.

*** Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
John Cena vs. Big Show vs. Edge (c)

My Random Prediction: John Cena, Pinfall, Yes - interference

Well, it did a pretty good job on this one.  And I can easily see either Vickie or Chavo interfering in this match - or maybe someone like Kozlov, ordered or paid off by Vickie to take out Cena and Big Show.  Assuming the match does indeed have John Cena (remember, that's not actually a spoiler - but it seems likely so I put him in the match for now), I'd think Cena will be bringing the title back over to Raw.  Otherwise, at least assuming they want to have one world title per show at the conclusion of WrestleMania (and not handle it at the draft, but I think that'd be way too obvious if it doesn't happen at WM), Edge and Randy Orton would both have to go over - two heels going over in the two main events at WM?  It'd be new, for sure.

*** Match for the WWE Championship
Randy Orton vs. Triple H (c)

My Prediction: Triple H, KO / Referee Stoppage, Yes - interference

And this one also came out pretty well, and with a finish I wouldn't have gone with on my own.  Also goes along with Cena bringing the title back to Raw, and HHH keeping his over on Smackdown.  A KO finish could easily be accomplished if HHH pays Orton back with a punt to the head.  It would make for a satisfying finish for fans of HHH.  Personally, I'd rather see Orton win, but HHH is due for a big win at WM.  And Legacy will likely get involved, so I think it got the interference right.

*** Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker

My Prediction: Shawn Michaels, Pinfall, Yes - interference

Hmm..  I don't see Undertaker's streak ending.  And not by HBK.  I can't remember a one-on-one match where Taker won against HBK, not to mention HBK doesn't need to add anything else to his resume at this point, so I think it's a given Taker is going over.  It could be interesting if they bring up the situation from WM14, where Undertaker supposedly told HBK he better lay down for Austin - and have HBK tease turning heel - to try and make it seem like HBK is going to pull a power play during the match.  The only way I would see Shawn winning this match is if they turn him heel, because I think a lot of fans would be pissed if he was the one who broke the streak.

*** Chris Jericho vs. Mystery Wrestler

My Prediction: No Contest, DQ, Yes - interference

So the random pick gave me a double DQ.  I could actually see that as a possibility.  I don't really want to see Jericho lose clean to an old guy, so I'd be happy with it.

*** Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy

My Prediction: No Contest, Pinfall, Yes - interference

I don't know how a match can end by pinfall and be a no contest unless Matt and Jeff somehow pin each other simultaneously.  It is a feud that will really just be starting at WM, so some kind of no contest finish isn't out of the realm of possibility, but I don't think it'll happen that way.

*** The Money in the Bank Ladder Match

My Prediction: No Contest

I'd like to think the Random Pick knows all the entrants aren't announced yet, and it picked No Contest while we wait.

*** Will the winner of Money in the Bank cash in the briefcase during the PPV?

My Prediction: Yes

So far I don't think there's anyone in the MITB match that has the kind of star power that would actually cause this to have a huge impact to close the show.  And I think a face will be going over to close the show..  don't see them ruining the big celebratory moment to cap off the show.

*** How many titles will change hands at WrestleMania?

My Prediction: 1

Right now there are only the two title matches, and I think Cena is winning the title - so this one makes sense to me.
