WrestleMania 25 Predictions from Cletus

Waiting for the Hall of Fame ceremony to start on USA..  figured it was the right time to go ahead and post up my predictions for WrestleMania.

*** Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
John Cena vs. Big Show vs. Edge (c)

My Prediction: John Cena, Pinfall, No - no interference

My Thoughts: I actually wouldn't be surprised to see Big Show walk out with the title, but he did beat John Cena clean on Raw so I'm inclined to think he won't get the win here.  Since I have Randy Orton winning the title against HHH, I would think John Cena getting the win will balance things out.  Plus, it seems to me the only real feud here is Big Show and Edge, so get the title onto a Cena for a new World Heavyweight feud, with Edge and Big Show continuing to feud underneath. 

*** Match for the WWE Championship
Randy Orton vs. Triple H (c)

My Prediction: Randy Orton, Pinfall, Yes - interference

My Thoughts: It would really stop Orton cold if he loses this match, and they've been trying to build him up as the top heel on Raw for so long - so I would have to think they'll make the right move and have Orton go over.  I know I've thought perhaps Shane would end up turning on HHH to join with Orton and help him win - though I wouldn't be surprised to see it be a different McMahon instead.  And if HHH wins, I'd think it'd be the end of the feud - but I think they'll drag this one out for a few more months.  Make us wait for HHH to get his revenge.

*** Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker

My Prediction: Undertaker, Pinfall, No - no interference

My Thoughts: Think this one is a no-brainer.  While I'd love to see HBK win because I'm a huge HBK mark, I don't know why they would have HBK end the streak.  I'm hoping for a lot of close falls, though.  This match is the main reason I want to watch the show.

*** Elimination Match,
Chris Jericho vs. Ricky Steamboat & Jimmy Snuka & Roddy Piper

My Prediction: Ricky Steamboat & Jimmy Snuka & Roddy Piper, Pinfall

My Thoughts: Since Steamboat's the one going in the Hall of Fame, I think it will come down to Jericho and Steamboat, and Steamboat will get a clean pin on Jericho.  (though I'd assume Flair and Rourke will end up providing some distraction for Jericho so he can at least save some face on Raw the next night)

*** Extreme Rules Match,
Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy

My Prediction: Matt Hardy, Pinfall, No - no interference

My Thoughts: Just like HHH/Orton, I think this is a feud they can continue to build on, so it makes the most sense to have Matt win.  The alternative would be some kind of non-finish, but Matt's the one who needs to win here so I'd think they'll give it to him.

*** The Money in the Bank Ladder Match

My Prediction: Shelton Benjamin

My Thoughts: I'd love to see them do something big with Shelton.  If he gets to be the one who takes the World Heavyweight Championship back over to Smackdown, I would love it.  (and what better way to do it than have a returning Batista take out Cena allowing Shelton to cash in the contract - jumping right back to the Batista/Cena feud that really doesn't need a title involved and gives Batista two times that he's caused champions to lose their titles to MITB winners)  I also wouldn't be shocked for MVP or Christian to get the win.

*** 25 Diva Battle Royale

My Prediction: Trish Stratus

My Thoughts: I don't really care about this one..  but Trish seems like an easy choice.  Though I suppose giving the title of Miss WrestleMania to an active diva might be a better idea - but Trish winning will pop the crowd the best I think.

*** Lumberjack Match,
The Miz & John Morrison vs. Carlito & Primo Colon

My Prediction: The Miz & John Morrison, Pinfall

My Thoughts: I'm hoping Miz & Morrison win it, they deserve to.  I did hear that Carlito and Primo's dad will be in attendance, though, so I could see it going their way.  (especially if they put Matt and Randy over, don't want to have too many heels winning)  I'm still going with Miz/Morrison though.

*** Match for the Intercontinental Championship
Rey Mysterio vs. JBL (c)

My Prediction: Rey Mysterio, Pinfall

My Thoughts: Another throw-away match.  Wouldn't doubt seeing JBL take Tazz's spot on Smackdown (though I'd rather get JBL/JR on Raw with the draft).

My Prediction:
Vince McMahon

My Thoughts: Well, when I made this question, Vince hadn't appeared on Raw.  I'm pretty positive he'll be seen at WrestleMania, so he's the easy choice here.  Not expecting anyone else though - unless they have plans to do Cena/Hogan at SummerSlam, and they want to get that started.

*** Will Chris Jericho get punched by Mickey Rourke?

My Prediction: Yes, outside of the ring

My Thoughts: Now we know Rourke will definitely be there, and I doubt it's to just watch from the crowd.

*** How many stunners will Stone Cold Steve Austin dish out during WrestleMania?

My Prediction: None

My Thoughts: With Rourke there, I don't see Austin having any involvement with Jericho.  Maybe Austin and Vince will run into each other in the back, but I'm still going with none.

*** Will the winner of Money in the Bank cash in the briefcase during the PPV?

My Prediction: No

My Thoughts: I think it'd be cool but then you lose the fun of having the MITB briefcase as part of the show for the next few months.

*** How many titles will change hands at WrestleMania?

My Thoughts: I have the World Heavyweight, WWE, and IC titles all changing hands.
