Night of Champions Predictions from Cletus

Still on vacation but sneaking away to post my predictions - so those three of you challenging me for the PPV know what my picks are ahead of time!  Not going to get too detailed but we'll see how this goes..

*** Match for the WWE Championship
John Cena vs. Triple H vs. Randy Orton (c) 

My Prediction: Randy Orton, Pinfall, Yes - interference

My Thoughts: I don't see Orton losing the title yet, and see him holding it at least until the Hell in a Cell PPV.  If a title change were to happen, I'd go with John Cena taking it, and potentially being challenged by Shawn Michaels at SummerSlam while Orton and HHH feud with no title involved..  but I'd say that's a bit of a longshot.

*** Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk (c) 

My Prediction: CM Punk, Pinfall, No - no interference

My Thoughts: Again, don't see a title change here either - because I don't think Jeff Hardy is sticking around.  But I have been out of the loop for the last week - maybe something has come up.  I may review PWInsiderElite and see if there has been any news, but hey, I'm at the beach!

*** Match for the ECW Championship
Christian vs. Tommy Dreamer (c) 

My Prediction: Tommy Dreamer, Pinfall, No - no interference

My Thoughts: The third primary brand title match and still I'm going with no title change.  I'm not sure if that will make for a very exciting PPV but we'll see..  I could see Christian losing here and then taking Jericho's offer to be his mystery partner.

*** Match for the Intercontinental Championship
Dolph Ziggler vs. Rey Mysterio (c) 

My Prediction: Dolph Ziggler, Pinfall, Yes - interference

My Thoughts: Gotta have a title change on this show if the three primary titles don't change, and I think Ziggler will benefit from a win here more than Mysterio retaining.  Possibly with some Jericho interference.

*** Match for the United States Championship
United States Syxx Pac Challenge

My Prediction: Jack Swagger

My Thoughts: Tough to call this one with so many in the match, but I would like to see them strap the rocket to Swagger because he has such a unique look and I enjoy watching him in the ring.

*** Match for the Unified Tag Team Championship
Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase Jr vs. Chris Jericho (c)  & Mystery Wrestler (c) 

My Prediction: Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase Jr, Pinfall, Yes - interference

My Thoughts: Actually, I should have gone with Jericho & Mystery Partner, but I'm not taking the time to go back and change my prediction.  The idea when I made the pick was to get the titles all on Legacy going into SummerSlam, though since TNA just did a similar thing with the Main Event Mafia, I'm not sure WWE will go that route.  So I'm reluctantly sticking with this pick.

*** Match for the Diva's Championship
Mickie James vs. Maryse (c) 

My Prediction: Maryse, Pinfall

My Thoughts: Not too invested in this one.  I'd prefer to see Mickie take the title, but I could see Miz helping Maryse out in this one.

*** Match for the Women's Championship
Melina vs. Michelle McCool (c) 

My Prediction: Melina, Pinfall

My Thoughts: And I went with Melina to win here, and I doubt both women's titles will change hands on the show.

*** Who will be pinned or made to submit in the WWE Championship Triple Threat match?

My Prediction: Triple H

My Thoughts: I just don't see why they'd have Cena lose here, even though I'm not a huge Cena fan, I think they need to protect him.  Triple H doesn't need any protection, and if it's caused by interference or with inadvertent help from Cena, it'll keep the Orton/HHH feud going.

*** Who will be pinned or made to submit in the United States Syxx Pac Challenge?

My Prediction: MVP

My Thoughts: No real thoughts here, but if Swagger wins, I'd see a program with MVP and Swagger for SummerSlam happening.  (even though I think both guys need to be protected..)  I'd like to see Big Show go down here, personally.

*** Will The Undertaker make an appearance during Night of Champions?

My Prediction: Yes

My Thoughts: Just going out on a limb..

*** Will Shawn Michaels make an appearance during Night of Champions?

My Prediction: No

My Thoughts: I think he'll make his return on Raw.

*** What match will be the first match on the PPV?

My Prediction: Christian vs Tommy Dreamer (c)

*** What match will be the final match on the PPV?

My Prediction: John Cena vs Triple H vs Randy Orton (c)

*** How many titles will change hands at Night of Champions?

My Prediction: 3
