Breaking Point Predictions from Cletus

Here are my predictions for tonight's WWE PPV, Breaking Point.  I'm taking on three challengers one-on-one, hopefully I can pull this one out!  I want to start the new season off strong.

*** Submission Match, for the World Heavyweight Championship
Undertaker vs. CM Punk (c) 

My Prediction: CM Punk, Yes - interference

My Thoughts: I just don't see WWE taking the title off CM Punk so quickly.  They luckily got what they could out of Jeff Hardy before his recent problems, and a big part of that was getting Punk over as a credible champion.  Having him lose right away to Undertaker would pretty much nullify all of that.  And with Hardy likely never coming back (though stranger things have happened..), they should take what they got out of him and run with it for as long as they can!  I am calling interference on this match, though as you'll see in my answer to the screwjob question, I am predicting it will end with Taker unable to answer the ref's count - not an actual screwjob.

*** I Quit Match, for the WWE Championship
John Cena vs. Randy Orton (c) 

My Prediction: John Cena, Yes - interference

My Thoughts: I'm struggling with this one, because I really had been counting on a HHH vs Randy Orton Hell in a Cell match next month.  But now a lot of people are guessing there will be a 6-man HIAC with Legacy taking on D-X and Cena.  I have to go with John Cena, because I don't see Cena saying "I Quit" no matter the circumstances (wouldn't fit with the Superman character WWE has given him).  I would have said perhaps a screwjob finish, but then you'd expect Cena to get one more rematch one-on-one with Orton at HIAC - and I really would be surprised if WWE does another Cena/Orton match to headline a PPV.  I do expect D-X to interfere, possibly to prevent Priceless from making any impact, and leading to Cena's win. 

*** Match for the ECW Championship
William Regal vs. Christian (c) 

My Prediction: William Regal, Pinfall

My Thoughts: Well, a big Cena title win would offset both Punk retaining and Regal earning the ECW title, I think!  With Jackson and Kozlov on his side, I think it's time for the ECW title to go to a heel.  I also think it's time for Christian to leave the ECW brand..  so maybe this is just wishful thinking.

*** Submission Match,
Shawn Michaels & Triple H vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase Jr

My Prediction: Shawn Michaels & Triple H, No - no interference

My Thoughts: After writing what I did for the Cena/Orton match about me thinking D-X will interfere to stop Priceless - I almost wanted to change my pick to Priceless in this match.  But I really don't see D-X submitting against DiBiase and Rhodes.  I suppose they COULD pull a screwjob in this match, and have Priceless go over - I guess that does make a little sense, screwing HBK in Montreal is something I didn't really think of when I made that question.  But I'll stick with my pick here.

*** Match for the Unified Tag Team Championship
MVP & Mark Henry vs. Chris Jericho (c)  & Big Show (c) 

My Prediction: Chris Jericho & Big Show, Pinfall, No - no interference

My Thoughts: I can't imagine MVP and Henry are going to be tagging together after this, so I can't see them winning the titles.  Plus, taking the titles off Jericho and Show means Jericho could no longer appear on Raw.  (well, if they follow the rules still)

*** Singapore Cane Match,
The Great Khali vs. Kane

My Prediction: Kane

My Thoughts: I'm really going against popular opinion on this one it seems, but I can't understand why WWE would put over a comedy act in this match.  Kane could use a big win here to get back into the top picture.  And what's a great way to get Taker out of the title picture without hurting his standing with the fans who would think he should keep going after the world title?  Put him with Kane to rekindle the Brothers of Destruction!  (always loved steinersaysuhhh's posts about that idea)  Yeah, Kane's a heel, so this is a stretch, but I still think Kane should get the win here since he can then move on to better things.  And potentially bring up someone new as a credible star.

*** Match for the Intercontinental Championship
Dolph Ziggler vs. John Morrison (c) 

My Prediction: John Morrison, Pinfall, No - no interference

My Thoughts: Well, doesn't seem like this match is happening anymore, but in case it does - this is my pick for it.

*** Match for the United States Championship
The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston (c) 

My Prediction: The Miz, Pinfall, No - no interference

My Thoughts: This match is NOT part of this prediction game!  I just manually typed it out here, don't worry.  But since it is going to happen, I should give my prediction.  I think The Miz needs the win here, and it makes the most sense.  Hopefully WWE won't disappoint.

*** Will either of the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Championship matches feature a screwjob finish?

My Prediction: Neither match will feature a screwjob finish

My Thoughts: It's possible, but I don't think an actual screwjob will take place.  I think we'll get some funny business, though.

*** Will D-Generation X interfere in any way in the WWE Championship Match?

My Prediction: Yes

My Thoughts: To help John Cena win the WWE title..  and hopefully leading to D-X taking out Cena because either HHH or HBK wants the title. :)

*** How many titles will change hands at Breaking Point?

My Prediction: 3 or more

My Thoughts: The WWE title, the ECW title, and the US title.
