Royal Rumble Predictions from Cletus

Below you'll find my personal picks for the Royal Rumble PPV.  (if you haven't entered your picks, do it now!  you've only got a few hours left - don't wait to the last minute and end up missing the cut-off time!)

I've been challenged by HBKIsForever so even though personally I'd like Shawn Michaels to win the Rumble, I didn't pick him and I'm sure HBKIsForever did...  so I hope I'm not wrong!

*** The Royal Rumble Match

My Prediction: Chris Jericho

My Thoughts: I think out of all the "main event players", Jericho is the one that would benefit most from winning the Rumble match.  I am pretty the direction we're heading will see HBK face either Undertaker or Triple H at WrestleMania (and does he really need to win the Rumble to get either of those matches?  not really), with John Cena vs Batista as a cross-brand non-title match, and I'm thinking Chris Jericho vs Edge could end up being the Smackdown main event on the show.  So Edge would have to somehow win the title between now and WrestleMania if Jericho wins the Rumble..  but it's not completely impossible!  Plus, I want Jericho to tease returning to Raw since it'll be his choice - and then decide to stay on Smackdown.  And Jericho's never won the Rumble before!

*** Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Rey Mysterio vs. Undertaker (c) 

My Prediction: Undertaker, Pinfall, Yes - interference

My Thoughts: Well, looking above, I could almost see why Mysterio winning the title could actually work out..  since I'd see Edge beating Mysterio before I'd see anyone beating The Undertaker.  I did pick interference, so anything could happen...  but I have a hard time picking Mysterio to go over here.  If CM Punk and Mysterio feud into WrestleMania, perhaps Punk interference here would be nice. 

*** Match for the WWE Championship
Randy Orton vs. Sheamus (c) 

My Prediction: Sheamus, Pinfall, Yes - interference

My Thoughts: This is another tough one.  I'm assuming HHH vs Sheamus right now for WrestleMania, so keeping the belt on Sheamus would be necessary for that.  Though he could always win it back at Elimination Chamber.

*** Match for the ECW Championship
Ezekiel Jackson vs. Christian (c) 

My Prediction: Ezekiel Jackson, Pinfall, Yes - interference

My Thoughts: Hoping that WWE is going to finally get Christian onto Raw or Smackdown!

*** Match for the Women's Championship
Mickie James vs. Michelle McCool (c) 

My Prediction: Mickie James, Pinfall, No - no interference

My Thoughts: I haven't kept up with this storyline too much, so I'm not sure if this is something that might last to WM - if it does, then McCool should go over here.  But I don't see that being a WM match, so I'm picking Mickie to pull out the victory here.

*** Will Edge or Rob Van Dam make an appearance at the PPV?

My Prediction: Yes, they both will make an appearance

My Thoughts: I think Edge will make an appearance, probably not wrestle.  I easily can see RVD coming in for the Rumble match - he's always been cool to come in and wrestle for a night.  The trick is if WWE thinks he's going to TNA, they might not want him to appear for them at all.  But I'm going to go out on a limb and say he'll be there.

*** Rumble Match: Who will eliminate Shawn Michaels?

My Prediction: Triple H

My Thoughts: To create DRAMA!

*** Rumble Match: Who will eliminate Triple H?

My Prediction: Chris Jericho

My Thoughts: End of Rumble 92 here.  HHH eliminates HBK, argues with him, only to get tossed out by Jericho.

*** Rumble Match: Who will eliminate John Cena?

My Prediction: Batista

My Thoughts: To set up a WM match!

*** Rumble Match: Who will eliminate Batista?

My Prediction: Shawn Michaels

My Thoughts: He needs a big elimination at least, so he's the one I'm giving HBK in the final minutes of the match.

*** Rumble Match: What number will the winner of the match enter at?

My Prediction: 4

My Thoughts: Well, I think Jericho will be out early, to stack the odds against the heel.  I went with 4.

*** Rumble Match: Who will score the most eliminations?

My Prediction: Shawn Michaels

My Thoughts: Although I don't think he'll eliminate too many top guys, I think he'll score a lot of eliminations on younger talent to get the crowd pumped and hoping for an HBK win.

*** Which match will be the final match of the PPV?

My Prediction: The Royal Rumble Match

My Thoughts: I put this question in because I know some people wonder if a title match will go on last, with an ending that may tie into the Rumble finish.  (the top scenario I've read people talk about is HBK winning the Rumble and then helping to make sure Taker walks out with the belt)

My Prediction: 2

My Thoughts: I picked Mickie James and Ezekiel Jackson to walk out with titles.
