Debuts on the Raw After Mania

TheWrestler

The Raw after Mania has grown to mean the debut of one or more new wrestlers to the main roster. We've seen Tensai, Sin Cara, and more debut this way. This week saw three and some promos for another. With all the talent already on the main roster we can only wonder what will happen when they add even more. Bad News Barrett For months he came up from the floor beside the ring telling us he had some bad news. On Raw he made his debut, and no bad news there. He is still very talented in the ring. It wasn't his first match on the main roster but it was his first one under the new gimmick so it counts as a debut in my mind. And beating Rey Mysterio, a former World Heavyweight and WWE Champion, is no small victory. It looks like this time around could be a longer successful one for Barrett. We can't be certain yet though as one match means nothing. Look at Fandango. He beat Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania in his first match and look at him now. He was thrown in the battle royal this year. I'm hoping for more with Barrett. Alexander Rusev w/Lana Alexander Rusev has come out on the stage for weeks showing off his physique and having Lana talk about him in a different language. It was an interesting change but left is knowing little about him even though we had already seen him many times. This could have been beneficial though as it made his debut more intriguing and mysterious. He fought Zack Ryder who got in very little offense against him. Beating Zack Ryder on Raw may not be very impressive itself, seeing as how every wrestler on the main roster either has done it or it's just assumed they could. But getting a win in your debut while showing off power, size, and athleticism, is what helps wrestlers get over. When a wrestler has that size and yet athleticism with it, it creates a more complete, well-rounded package. Having Lana with him may prove to be an asset as well, although we don't know how big of a role she'll play in his main roster career. Only time will tell. Paige By far I would label her debut as not just the best of the night but one of the best in a while. Putting titles on superstars and divas too quickly sometimes proves to be disastrous, but she has already proven she has the skill and ability. Plus with the bullying diva role AJ was playing and the hardworking fan favorite Paige was playing, maybe it just felt right. Also the shock factor of the new girl winning the title the night after AJ retained it against pretty much every diva in the company adds to it. I thought it was a great way for her to debut and it already gives her some credibility and accolades. I hope this is a very beneficial, long lasting addition to the divas roster. These three additions to the main roster add to a large pool of talent that is already established. I think all three of these new wrestlers can continue to grow and become bigger and more important as time goes on as long as their build is done right. Paige's was out on the fast track, which hopefully will work for her while Alexander's seems like it will be taken slow. Barrett's could be down here in between. All three are very talented and deserve a long, successful career. Time will tell and we will we over time whether they make it or not.

Sorry about the format. I don't know why it does this but it does. I hope you like the quality anyways.

Bad News Barrett is a good gimmick that could go far, but only as far as say the Intercontinental/United States Championships.

Alexander Rusev will probably either be a jobber or out of the WWE by the time WrestleMania 31 comes around next year.

Paige she won the Divas Championship in a fluke win, she got lucky. Paige hasn't had a chance to show off her wrestling abilities yet, but I look forward to seeing Paige/AJ Part 2 for the Divas Title.
