Anyone want to work on some special features for the site with me?
I cleared this with Cletus and he'd be willing to set up new sections on the site where I and anyone else who wanted could post special content. Whether you want to do some type of back-and-forth discussion, PPV picks featuring comments from a couple of us together, a comedy thing, or hardcore fantasy booking.. or even something special for your league.. send me a message and let me know.
I'm going to put together a list of sections and send it to Cletus to build them up. We can have somewhat full control over the sections as long as we contribute regularly. I thought it would be more fun than just plain old blogging. And I'd like to start my own wrestling site one day so can be good practice.

Well the thing is I don't really have stuff already in mind. I was hoping some people would pitch some ideas. If either nighte or jmt5887 want to do a weekly PPV prediction where visitors to the site can vote on our predictions, Cletus said he can build something like that. mitch has a cool idea to do the more traditional kind of fantasy wrestling where people can create their own wrestlers and he'll put cards together and let us vote on the winners. Cletus, let us know what info you'd need to get that going. I know that won't be something you can just whip up in a day. mitch, if you want to outline how you want it to work, you should do it here. it'd be nice to get feedback from other people too on it and to see if there's interest. I could try and bring some people over from Yahoo Answers and get tgem involved. Here is the basic outline: to join you fill out a form like this ring name- heel/face- finisher/s- gender- The weekly show could be called either Onslaught or Redemption(or anything u can come up with,they r just the ones i already use) I post the match cards once a week then people vote for the winners. Rhombus had contacted me basically to see about having user-created content that wasn't just in blogs - things that would actually be linked on the left-side of the side. Some of the ideas like doing the PPV predictions/discussions or post-PPV reviews in more of a roundtable discussion - my initial reaction is those could be done in blogs. BUT it doesn't really support a kind of roundtable discussion. One person would have to post it, and then others could comment, or y'all would have to put something together outside of the site and then one person would post it. That wouldn't really work. I think I can build in some new features to the blogging to allow for roundtable-style discussions. When you make a post, you could choose who is authorized to make official comments. All people involved would be credited as the authors. And regular users here could still comment at the very bottom like the regular blogs. I'll see about building this over the weekend. The fantasy game mitch176 wants to run sounds pretty cool, too. I can build that mitch, but it'll probably take a few weekends at least. I'll start building it. You'll of course be credited as the admin of your fantasy game and I'll put the link to it under 4-UP on the left, since it's a fantasy game. I'll get in touch with you via email when I get started and let you test things out when I am ready for you to do that. And not related to the stuff Rhombus was talking about, but I do really want to get a comprehensive wrestling database started soon. With info on every PPV in history and as much for televised and house shows as possible. I think that would be really useful. But it's a pretty grand project. Wow thanks everyone for all the responses and private messages. I didn't think I'd get that much of a response. I guess we've got Cletus to thank for building such an awesome site where a lot of great wrestling fans come to. :) So it sounds like the roundtable discussion is in the works. I'll wait to hear from Cletus and then I'll get back in touch with everyone. But please let me know if there are any ideas you have for certain discussions - weekly shows, PPVs, DVDs, etc. I doubt I can participate in all of them so any of you can take the lead on them. I'm not looking for credit for anything I don't take part in myself! And if there's anyone who can do comedy, I've seen some cool stuff people have done with wrestling action figures, posing them and writing matches - I think that'd be something fun to see here. Just to let everyone know where all this stands.. I told Rhombus to hold off on contacting anyone or posting more about it just yet since it's going to be a few weekends before I can get this stuff done. I'm going to try and have the roundtable discussion upgrade (along with a new poll feature - so you can create your own polls in your blog posts) done in about 2-3 weeks. The new (roleplay-style) fantasy game will be at least another 2-3 weeks after that.
