WWE Superstars Giveaway Contests - Let me know if any of you are interested!
Hey everyone, you probably noticed I had posted the other day about the "Win Tickets to WWE SummerSlam with WGN America" contest. As one of the featured bloggers here at 4-Down, I was contacted by someone working with WGN America about not only posting news about the Superstars show, but potentially running giveaways here on the site.
Cletus knows about it and has given the go-ahead after he checked out all the details, though first he wanted me to gauge interest in the idea. If there's no interest, there's no reason to try and host them here.
Basically, every week I would post up the info on the giveaway on Wednesday. Then after Superstars airs, anyone here on the site can post a review of the show, or really any thoughts on the show, and then post a comment on the weekly blog post I posted about the giveaway with your name and email address. (and you can post your email address using a format so that it isn't picked up by spiders, ie, "cenamancan (at) yahoo [dot] com")
I'll select three of the entries to win the prize, and the information you had posted in the blog comment will be sent along to the people who will handle delivering you your prize. (they will contact you using the email you posted to get your shipping information) We've verified that your information will NOT be used for any unscrupulous activities, though unless you specifically ask to opt-out when you're contacted by the third-party, they may contact you in the future about other giveaway opportunities. (if you're concerned, the best recommendation I can give you is to create a brand new email account used specificially for this - then you have nothing to lose)
The email address you signed up to this site with is NOT going to be provided if you enter and win - ONLY the email address you posted as the blog comment. I don't have access to any of the info you gave to 4-Down when signing up.
This is restricted to people living in the United States, but there are no age restrictions.
The prizes to start with, directly from the source: "(3) hard plastic WWE Superstars water bottles with carrying bag subject to availability. Product may be substituted with another giveaway item." In the future, there is the possibility of t-shirts and other prizes, but if no one is interested in ever entering, we'll never know.
Just comment here to say if you'd be interested in this. Cletus said that the only way I can go ahead with doing it is if at least 10 people are willing to play!

I think it's pretty cool, too, though my main concern was what their privacy policy was. I made sure nothing fishy would be done with anyone's info before passing it along to Rhombus to post (he's going to handle all the Superstars-related items here). wwefan18 and ChiCityHuster23, if y'all know anyone else who might be interested, send them on over. I'm the one making Rhombus get at least 10 people to say they're interested since I think it'd be a silly thing to do if not many were playing along (and we can't keep giving prizes away to the same people!). And if anyone would be interested in participating in a giveaway, but you don't want to have to post a blog - please comment here and say that. We can come up with different ways to participate every week with no problem, even trivia games that you just comment back with your answers on. Oh come on, Spencer. Just let me and ChiCityHustler23 play and we can get turns winning the prizes. LOL. Joking!! But I can see if I can recruit some more members to the site and I'll even post the link on my forum Website for you too. But about the Blog idea, I like that. But maybe each and every week we should have something different to make it more unique and interesting. Maybe one week we post a blog, another week we do the trivia idea you suggested, maybe another week you can get everyone that is willing to participate and randomly generate a winner using www.random.org and then that person gets the prize and to claim it they must comment on why the deserve the prize, and stuff like that just to make it more interesting. You know, stuff like that. But I'll try and get my friends Zack, Jacob, Kyle, Matt, and some others to join and/or participate. Thanks again for this idea. And I think that the information of everyone is safe. I'm in Web Development, just like Spencer, and we both know that scams, frauds, and criminal activity is among the top crimes in the world and are very much easy to fall into, so having the privacy protected is the number one priority. These giveaways aren't for tickets to a show, but who knows, maybe something like that could happen one day. Probably need a lot more responses before we can start this. I just invited one of my friends from my forum Website and he's also the Head Moderator of my site. I hope to hear back from him soon so he could let me know if he'd like to join. He probably will though. I have a few more guys to ask and I could also send out an email to a few people and ask them if they'd like to join and see what goes down. But if ten people joins that'd be great. Now Rhombus, can one person win a prize more than once? I don't know if they'll allow one person to win multiple times. I'm sure it's okay after a certain amount of time, but I would think it'd need to be every 2 months at best. They're hoping to garner interest in the WWE Superstars show, and having the same people win and not having new people posting blogs about the show would probably reduce their interest in even doing the giveaway. Hey guys, Rhombus and I were working off of info we thought was right but I was just informed that we were a bit wrong. This isn't a giveaway that will occur every week. We're going to do a giveaway one time, next week, and three people will win. Since it's just a one-week thing (though certainly if response is good to the giveaway, there's always a chance these things can happen again in the future), we can go ahead and do this. I'll let Rhombus know (though he'll probably see it here), just expect him to post about it on Wednesday of next week and be prepared to write reviews of the Superstars show! I'm going to post all the details on Wednesday so just make sure to come back and check sometime Wednesday afternoon. But basically you'll watch Superstars on WGN at 8pm ET (not sure when Hulu puts it up, might not be in time to take part in the giveaway) and then write a review of the show as a blog here. I'll have the info on how the winners will be chosen on Wednesday. There will be some basic requirements (can't just post 2 sentences and hope to win, sorry) but nothing too crazy.
