The 176 Show Episode 5

Hello and welcome to the 176 show episode 5. Tonight I will be doing my first book review, give you my thoughts on Sheamus being given a wwe title push and give you my end of year awards.

Well to kick things off BringBackRVD asked me to review Chris Jericho's Autobiography, so here I go.

I have read a number of wrestlers autobiographies, including Adam Copeland on Edge, Batista Unleashed, Mick Foley's Hardcore Diaries, The Unauthorised history of DX and yes Chris Jericho's "Around the world in Spandex". To start off I have to say that I love that name!
But seriously, his book is a great read. Some of the autobiography books that I have read I never really got into, such as Mick Foley's Hardcore Diaries and The Unauthorised History Of DX. But Jericho's book was one of the easiest to feel the flow of and get into.
He doesn't miss out any of his life, he covers it all the way from wrestling in a gym at school in Winnipeg all the way to his debut in the wwe.

Through out all the ups and downs of his life you never lose interest, he keeps you wanting to learn more and more about him and his experiences. To be honest by the time I had finished the book I still wanted more, so thank god he is making another one which covers from after he debuts in the wwe.

In my conclusion I must recommend this book to any Jerichoholic, or even just someone who wants to learn a bit more about what it takes to become a wrestler and the hardship they go through. Very good book.


Next I am going to cover the situation of Sheamus receiving a WWE title match at a brand new ppv, TLC.

Well quite frankly I think it is a bad move by WWE. Now don't get me wrong, I think that it is a great idea having a breakthrough battle royal. But having Sheamus win was a bad decision move, because think about the more experienced, more entertaining and more deserving people that could have been given this push instead. I mean come on, isn't this the guy I saw in a feud with Goldust just a few weeks ago? Isn't this the guy who's claim to fame is putting a jobber in a retirement home and kicking an announcer in the jaw??

Sheamus is basically receiving the same treatment Umage did when he turned up in WWE. And look at where Umaga is now, out of a job that's where. Granted he is now wrestling for Hulk Hogan now but he isn't getting on tv anymore.
We might as well be calling Sheamus, Palemaga!!

So yes that is my view on Sheamus, granted I wouldn't have minded a bit further into his career, but not now.


Next I am going to do my own sort of Slammy Awards:

Superstar Of The Year - Shawn Michaels, because he has been involved in one of the greatest feuds at a Wrestlemania against the Undertaker. He is just generally great, when ever he performs he puts on a five star performance and he never seems to falter.

Brand Of The Year - Smackdown, because quite frankly Raw has gotten stale and predictable, it also seems to just repeat week after week. Where as Smackdown seems too offer something new each week and in my opinion never seems to get stale and boring (Although this week was pretty bad). If ECW didn't have that annoying announcer (Which they have just fired thank god!!) and got rid of Rosa Mendes and her stupid gimmick then I would be forced to give the award to both brands, but alas they do have them so Smackdown wins.

Tag Team Of They Year - Jerishow, in all honestly they have done exactly what they said they would do, and that is dominate the WWE. I mean lets see who they have beat, Cryme Tyme, Batista and Rey, MVP and Mark Henry, Legacy and they have gone toe to toe with The Brothers Of Destruction. That my friends, is impressive.

Comeback of the year - The reformation of the brothers of destruction, I personally didn't see this coming and I was there live. I really like that they have gotten back together and hope that it doesn't end too soon. They are a great tag team and should have a shot at the tag titles.
