176 Show Episode 8 + WWE Beta ECW Week 18/12/09

Welcome to the 176 Show week 8, this week I will talk about Sheamus winning the WWE Championship, praise TLC for being a great show and then bash Raw for being REALLY bad, give my thoughts on what will happen over the next few months of WWE on the Road To Wrestlemania 26 and then the WWE Beta ECW Week 18/12/09.


So lets kick things off with my thoughts on Sheamus winning the WWE title:

Ok, when I first saw Sheamus fall down to the floor and Cena fall through the table I thought to myself that the match would not end because Sheamus did not push Cena, he just fell. That is how I thought WWE would tease a Sheamus win and then have Cena slam Sheamus through a table straight away.

But neh' I was wrong again, Sheamus was declared the winner and the new WWE champion. I think my jaw dropped for as long as Cena's did when Shawn superkicked HHH at SS. Then WWE went and surprised me even more when Cena did not use his title rematch clause the same night and win it back.

So in my opinion I am truly shocked that Sheamus has won, but on the other I do see it as a good move for WWE because now Sheamus has something to get him over with the crowds and make him a top level main-eventer heel on Raw.

I do believe that Sheamus set a new record at TLC as well, another blogger made it apparent that Brock Lesner who was pushed to the moon by WWE had three PPV appearances before he won the WWE title, where as Sheamus has had one! So does this mean big things in Sheamus' future? Or is it simply a record that was made to be broken?


Next I will talk about the great show TLC, but then the terrible follow up Raw:

Well I have basically said it all but I think we all agree that TLC was a very good PPV, especially if you look back at the ones we have had recently. But whatever momentum WWE had given themselves at TLC, they lost the next night on Raw.

To start things off they had a horrible guest host who no one seemed to get his jokes and he basically knew nothing about the wrestling world. So that meant that the opening to the show sucked, Dennis spoke his lines well but the audience just wasn't buying it. But what made matters worse was that following a relatively poor opening what did WWE follow up with? The "Ruthless" Roundtable! Now I am a fan of Regal, but I don't tune into Raw to hear about and see the feuds from other brands starting things off. What made matters worse was the completely random teaming of Khali and Kane. I mean yes they are monsters but in honesty I would rather have seen a rematch form ECW and have Shelton-Yoshi-Christian vs Roundtable.


Another upset about was the fact that up and coming people like MVP and Jack Swagger couldn't even find themselves a match on a three hour Raw! That just shows that WWE does not have their confidence in the right people.

Pushing people has become very important in WWE lately, they did well for a while with Orton-Kofi and Sheamus-Cena. But on Raw those two people (One being the fricken WWE champ) lost all the momentum and stature they had before. Kofi seems to be being lowered back down the card and into a mid card feud with Legacy and Sheamus didn't even have a match! I mean he is your NEW WWE Champ for god sake, even having him squash Santino would have done better for his image.

The last thing I will say about Raw is that all the matches were really short! Did any one else notice that? If WWE plan on staying a wrestling-entertainment show and not an entertainment show then they best start giving us some longer more entertaining matches! I mean come on they had a huge diva tag match and only had two of them get in the bloody ring!


Next I will talk about what I think is going to happen over the next few months in WWE, leading up to Wrestlemania 26:

Royal Rumble:
At the RR I think that the world title matches will be Cena vs Sheamus and Rey Mysterio vs Undertaker.
Winners= Cena and Taker
I then think that either Shawn Michaels or Edge will win the Rumble.

Elimination Chamber:
I think that the main events will be Elimination Chamber for the world title - Taker vs Batista vs Rey vs Chris vs Kane vs Edge(If he doesn't win the rumble) or Punk

Elimination Chamber for the WWE title - Cena vs Sheamus vs HHH vs Randy Orton vs Big Show vs Kofi kingston (I hope any way) vs Shawn Michaels (If he doesn't win the rumble) or Ted Dibiase

Winners= Batista or Edge and Shawn or Cena

Leading Up to Mania:

If Batista wins then Edge and Chris Jericho feud till Mania and Batista feuds with either Rey or someone else.
If Edge wins then Edge feuds with Jericho leading into Mania over the title and Batista and Rey feud to Mania where they have their last match.

If Cena wins then god knows who he will face or feud with, and then Shawn challenges the Undertaker to their second match.
If Shawn wins then he feuds with HHH over the title to WM and Cena challenges Taker at Mania.



WWE Beta ECW Week 18/12/09:


Event 1: Backstage interview with Ezekiel Jackson, Savannah asks Zeke what his thoughts are on winning the battle royal and eliminating William Regal. He replies by saying that he knew he would win, but he did not think that Regal had the guts to lay a hand on him. He then says that his business with Regal is not finished and that he wants Regal in a match tonight.


Video package hyping the Royal Rumble is shown.


Match 1: Hurricane Helms/w Goldust beats Trent Baretta/w caylon Croft in 9:31 after Helms hits the Eye of The Storm for the win. All the superstars then brawl after the match until security breaks up the two teams.

Replays of last weeks ECW is shown, it shows Zeke eliminating Regal from the battle royal and winning and Christian attacking Dreamer after Dreamer cost him the match.


Event 2: Dreamer comes out to the ring and says that he understands that Christian was mad after he got eliminated last week and that he is willing to put that behind him and be friends again. Christian then comes out to the ring to huge heat and says that he doesn't want to be friends with Dreamer again. He says that Dreamer crossed a line that a friend wouldn't cross, and that is costing them a championship opportunity.
Christian then says that he wants Dreamer to suffer for what he did and he wants to end Dreamers career once and for all. Christian then attacks Dreamer and connects with a devastating KillSwitch. He then rolls out of the ring and grabs the same type of steel chair that he used to attack Dreamer last week. He raises it above Dreamers helpless body and swings it down full force. He connects with Dreamers head and slowly walks away from the ring leaving Dreamer bloody and broken.

Main Event for tonight is announced, William Regal vs Ezekiel Jackson. Kozlov on commentary. In a No-DQ Match.

Match 2: Katie Lea Burchill beats Rosa Mendes in 3:44 after The Ripper attacks Zack at ringside Rosa leaves the ring to check on him and gets counted out.

Match 3: Shelton Benjamin beats Vance Archer in 8:22 after he hits the Pay Dirt for the win.

Match Announced for Next Week, Zack Ryder and Rosa Mendes vs The Ripper and Katie Lea Burchill in a mixed tag match.


Main Event: Ezekiel Jackson beats William Regal in 17:44 after he hits the modified uronagi(His Finisher) through a trash can for the win.

After the match Jackson throws William onto Kozlov who is staring Jackson down form ringside. Jackson then fetches the ECW title belt and poses with it in the middle of the ring until the show goes off air.
