Segment 0- “Nothing to Lose” by Operator hits the P/A system as our opening video plays and pyro shoots from the stage and tron. We then have a video package that runs down the US and World Title pictures, before Rey Mysterio’s music hits and he makes his way out onto the stage from a mixed reaction.
Segment 1 - Rey Mysterio rolls into the ring without talking to any of the fans at ringside, before grabbing a microphone and turning to face the camera.
Rey Mysterio: What happened last week was the natural course that any man in my situation would take. I did whatever I had to do in order to become the number 1 contender to the title that should by all right be mine. I could’ve beaten John Cena at Money in the Bank and become the World Champion, but I didn’t and therefore it is down to me to complete my mission at SummerSlam.
Rey Mysterio is about to continue when John Cena’s music hits and the World champion makes his way out onto the stage with a microphone in one hand and his World title in the other.
John Cena: Rey Rey Rey, you talk about being able to beat me in that ring, well the way I see things is that you’ve never beaten me fairly and you certainly didn’t beat Alberto Del Rio fairly last week, in fact if I didn’t know things better then I would’ve said that this man would’ve beaten Del Rio himself.
At that moment “Voices” by Rev Theory hits the P/A system and Randy Orton charges down to the ring to a big pop from the crowd, he slides straight into the ring and tackles Rey Mysterio to the floor where he starts to repeatedly throw punches at him; until security eventually make their way down to the ring and separates them. Stephanie McMahon then strides out onto the stage and stands by John Cena.
Steph: Boys calm down! John you say Rey hasn’t won a fair fight yet and Orton you obviously want a piece of him; so tonight it’s going to be Rey Mysterio vs. The Viper, Randy Orton!
Match 1: Battle Royal – Winner faces Drew McIntyre for the MITB briefcase at SummerSlam
Jack Swagger vs. R-truth vs. Johnny Curtis vs. Trent Baretta vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Ezekiel Jackson vs Skipp Sheffield
Result= The match started off with R-Truth and Swagger trading blows, Jackson and Sheffield, Trent and Ziggler swinging at each other and Johnny Curtis simply drifting around the ring. Eventually Skipp gets the better of Jackson and throws him into the turnbuckle before levelling everyone else in the match with big clotheslines. But then Jackson takes advantage of Skipp having his back turned and nails him with a clothesline of his own. Jackson is then blindsided by Trent Baretta who lunges at Zeke with an elbow, but Zeke manages to catch Trent in mid-air and uses his pure strength to lunge Trent over the top rope and to the floor.
Trent Baretta – Eliminated
Meanwhile Truth and Swagger are brawling once again, as are Ziggler and Curtis, but by now Skipp Sheffield is getting back to his feet and he walks straight over to Zeke and starts trading lefts and rights with the tag team champion. After seeing the two behemoths trading blows in the middle of the ring, all the other superstars put aside their differences and team up on Skipp and Zeke. This leads to every person in the ring working together to send Skipp rolling over the top rope, much to the pleasure of everyone else.
Skipp Sheffield – Eliminated
But Zeke doesn’t take too kindly to this as he wanted to be the one to eliminate one of the people he beat for the tag titles, so he charges the other men and while Truth, Swagger and Curtis manage to avoid the attack, Ziggler gets caught with a clothesline and is sent flying over the top rope.
Dolph Ziggler – Eliminated
R-Truth and Swagger immediately begin brawling once again and Johnny Curtis walks up to Zeke showing no fear and stares him down, before trading lefts and rights with Zeke. But Zeke’s power is too great and he quickly takes the advantage, throwing Curtis into the corner and lunging at him, nailing him with a big shoulder block. Meanwhile the brawl between Truth and Swagger has led to Swagger using his strength to lift Truth over the top rope, but Truth manages to hold onto the rope and lands on the apron; he then takes advantage of a recovering swagger and pulls him over the top rope via the neck. Now both men are standing on the apron on the outside of the ring, swinging lefts and rights, both men being in a dangerous position. Truth then decides to hit Swagger with a big kick to the groin, but swagger catches Truth mid-kick and uses his power to throw Truth off the apron! But Truth isn’t finished yet as he angrily grabs Swagger’s foot from outside the ring and pulls him out with him.
Swagger and Truth – Eliminated
Swagger can’t believe what Truth has done and the two begin brawling once again on the outside of the ring, eventually making their way through the fans and into the back.
This leaves Johnny Curtis and one half of the tag team champions, Ezekiel Jackson, in the ring. Once Zeke see’s that they are the last two left he allows Curtis to get out of the corner and the two stare each other down in the centre of the ring. Curtis is taunting Zeke to attack him, but Zeke isn’t falling for it, so Curtis slaps Zeke across the face and follows it up with a big superkick to the face while Zeke is dazed. Johnny see’s that he has an opportunity here and he pushes Jackson towards the ropes on the other side of the ring, once Zeke is leaning on the ropes Johnny starts throwing lefts and rights but seems to be getting nowhere fast. But then all of a sudden as Curtis is about to throw another punch, Zeke grabs Curtis by the arm and uses all his strength to hurl Curtis over the top rope and to the floor below.
Johnny Curtis – Eliminated
Winner – Ezekiel Jackson
Jackson’s music hits as Curtis can’t believe what just happened and Big Zeke begins to celebrate in the middle of the ring as he realises that he has a chance to fight for the MITB briefcase. But just then none other than Drew McIntyre comes running down to the ring and immediately nails Zeke over the head with his MITB briefcase. He then grabs Zeke by the neck, raises him to his knees and plants him to the ground with the Future Shock as we go to a break.
Segment 2 – When we come back from the break we see our Divas Champion Tamina who is backstage in her locker room, she is soon joined by the number 1 contender, Beth Phoenix.
Beth: Tamina, I just wanted to let you know that I’m going to be having my title shot at SummerSlam, hell I thought that would be as good a place as any to reclaim MY gold.
Tamina: Oh it’s your gold now is it? Well the last time I looked Beth, this title plate read Tamina and not Beth Phoenix, so you’ll have to excuse me if I ignore your bs.
Beth: Do you honestly think you’re better than me Tamina? Well how about you prove it then? Go out to that ring and beat someone that even I had a tough time beating back in the day, Melina.
Tamina: You’re on!
Match 2: Singles Match
Tamina vs Melina
Result= This was a good match put on by these two Divas here tonight, Tamina was out to prove that she was just as good as Beth and Melina was out to make a claim on the Divas title by beating the current champion. For the majority of the match it was the experience of Melina that put her ahead in the game, but when she went to hit the Primal Scream Tamina saw it coming and managed to avoid the move. She then levelled Melina with a stiff kick to the head before gesturing to the top turnbuckle, and then once she receives a pop from the crowd she climbs to the top rope and flies off in impression fashion, nailing Melina with a Frog Splash.
Winner – Tamina
Segment 3 – After Tamina and Melina have left the ring, Kane’s music hits and the Big Red Machine comes strolling out to the ring to a chorus of boos from the fans, but it is obvious from the look on Kane’s face that he doesn’t care what they think. So he proceeds to climb into the ring and snatch a microphone from the hands of the announcer.
Kane: Christian…. I told you that you would pay dearly for your sins… And you have done just that.
The titan-tron shows stills from last week where Kane and Christian brawled in the locker room with Kane getting the advantage.
Kane: Now that you are on the road to redemption…. All I have left to do, is send you where you belong… The bowls of hell!
Just then “Just Close your Eyes” hits and Christian makes his way out onto the stage with tape wrapped around his chest from the chokeslam last week.
Christian: Kane, how about you just shut up?!
The crowd pop
Christian: We both know that you aren’t going to send me anywhere so just cut the crap and do what all these people want you to do, face me in a match!
Kane: The Devil’s favourite demon is willing to give you a match Captain Charisma… But he does not fight in just any match… In order for you to truly be sent to hell, The Devil’s Favourite Demon will have to face you in a match… where anything goes, where there are no rules and where there are no limits to the amount of pain and suffering I can cause you.
Christian: … You’re on, you vs me, No Holds Barred… Summerslam!
The crowd explode as Christian’s music hits and we go to another break.
Match 3: Tag Team Match
Goldust and Yoshi Tatsu vs. Alberto Del Rio and Drew McIntyre
Result= This was a pretty quick match, Yoshi’s shoulder was still taped up from when he was attacked by Del Rio a couple of weeks ago and Goldust was forced to carry out most of the offense. But Drew and Del Rio quickly took advantage and managed to beat Goldust down to the point where he could no longer defend himself. Del Rio then decided that it was time to end the match and dragged Goldust over to his corner where he tagged in Drew McIntyre, who grabbed Goldust by the head and nailed him with the Future Shock. Drew then tagged Del Rio back into the match, who then locked in the Arm-Bar on Goldust, who knew he had nowhere to go so he immediately tapped.
Winner – Drew and Del Rio
After the match Del Rio grabbed a mic as Drew and he stayed in the ring.
Del Rio: Me and Drew here have a lot in common, more than you pathetic people realise! It is both our destinies to become the WWE Champion, and we are both being screwed over by management!
Drew: Stephanie is forcing me into defending something that I rightfully earned, and she cost him his shot at the title by putting him in a handicap match, where is the justice in that? But you guys in the audience, you only care about doing the right thing when it involves your beloved John Cena or Randy Orton. When bad things happen to us you couldn’t care less and you certainly won’t be complaining.
Del Rio: So Drew and I have decided to become a unit, until the WWE Title is in our possession and the management has been overthrown, we are best things this company has to offer, and you all need to realise that!
Match 4: Tag Team Match
CM Punk and Mark Henry vs. Tyson Kidd and Daniel Bryan
Result= This match was made last week as a result of the attack that Henry and Punk carried out on their two opponents here tonight. Throughout the match it was clear that Tyson and Bryan still didn’t see eye to eye, as for the past couple of months they have been at each other’s throats, but they had a common goal here tonight and they worked together reasonably well. The downfall came though when Daniel Bryan was about to hit Punk with a Shining Wizard, but Tyson wanted the glory and tagged himself in; Tyson then charged Punk, but by now Punk had had enough time to recover and Tyson ran straight into a GTS from the US Champion. Daniel Bryan couldn’t believe what he was seeing but it was all too late as Mark Henry ran across the ring and pummelled Bryan with a big right hand, sending him flying into the barricade, as Punk made the cover.
Winners – CM Punk and Mark Henry
After the match Daniel Bryan looked up into the ring and decided that Tyson deserved anything he got at the hands of Punk and Henry and walked backstage. But instead of attacking Tyson, Punk simply put his foot on his chest and raised his US title into the air as we cut backstage.
Segment 4 – Backstage we can see Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton preparing for their main event match which is up next!
Main Event: Singles Match
Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton
Result= Rey Mysterio came down to the ring to a chorus of boos for the first time in his life as the fans are slowly beginning to turn on him for taking what others see as shortcuts. The match started off slowly with Randy Orton having the advantage and using his slow pace to deliver damage to the various body parts of Rey Mysterio. But after avoiding a lariat from Orton, Rey managed to jump up into the air and nail Orton with a reverse Hurricanerana, sending Orton flying out of the ring. As Orton was getting back to his feet Rey measured him up from inside the ring, then with no warning Rey leaps over the top rope and nails Orton with flying Crossbody. Both men manage to make it back into the ring before the count of 10, but Orton is clearly a bit dazed from the high flying assault of Mysterio. But Rey makes a mistake and decides to go onto the apron and try to hit Orton with a West Coast Pop, because Orton sees his chance and kicks Rey in the gut before he manages to carry out the move. Orton then locks his arm around the neck of Mysterio and delivers a big Hangman’s DDT. Orton can feel the voices in his head now and he starts pounding the match ready to deliver the RKO, but Rey can hear the move coming and decides to roll out of the ring much to the displeasure of Orton. So Randy rolls out of the ring also and follows Mysterio to the time-keeper’s table; but as soon as Orton catches up to Rey, Rey turns around and nails Orton over the head with a steel chair. The ref immediately calls for the bell and Rey has cost himself the match.
Winner – Randy Orton via DQ
But Rey isn’t finished yet as he rolls Orton back into the ring and follows him in with the steel chair; he proceeds to raise the chair in the air and is about to bring it down on Orton’s head when John Cena’s music hits and the champ comes running down to the ring to make the save. But Rey sees his opponent for SummerSlam coming and nails Cena over the head with the chair the second he gets in the ring. Our show then begins to fade out with Rey Mysterio standing over the laid out bodies of Orton and Cena, with the steel chair in hand.

Wow another great show. Rey Myserio is really starting to change. From last week to now, Rey seems to be going heel. Well we'll see what happens. Even though Drew feels like he's being robbed, I'm glad he's facing Big Zeke. Alright final rating: 4.0. Good Show. Posted on August 9, 2011 at 2:06 AM |
