I was reading the WWE Universe forums and came across a discussion saying that it's been pretty much confirmed that X-Pac (Sean Waltman) and Scott Hall will be brought in to TNA. Supposedly X-Pac has been telling the people he's working with now (a wrestling promotion in Mexico I think) about it. Well, now the internet knows about it, but I haven't seen much discussion elsewhere outside the one thread at WWE Universe.
Now I suppose this could be completely wrong but the original poster mentioned hearing and reading it at two reputable wrestling websites. I think this news was just broken earlier today so with a lot of people away for holidays it will probably take longer than normal for the news to spread.
I didn't see any indication of what their roles would be - Scott Hall and X-Pac's, that is - but you would have to think they're coming in to be involved with Nash and Hogan. Either all together as one unit, or possibly coming in to join with Nash to be an opposing force for Hogan. If it's just with Nash, they can just go under the Wolfpac name, since Hogan was never a part of that subset of the nWo. (and I don't think WWE owns the Wolfpac name)
Are these some of our fears of Hogan coming to TNA coming to fruition? While I will admit I've always been a huge Scott Hall fan - more for his wrestling ability in the 90s and more this decade for his mic work (which I also loved in the 90s, but his wrestling was what made him special to me then) - it just sounds like a recipe for disaster. (but if Scott Hall shows up a changed man and able to work again - boy would I love for him to come back to WWE if he's able to prove he can stay in line!)
X-Pac is the one I don't get. I do enjoy his wrestling, but he was never the epitome of "cool" like Nash and Hall were. He's a black hole of charisma and the fans' reactions - whether they would be good or bad - are just non-existant just like light can't escape a black hole!
So what in the world is TNA thinking? Since I've also heard the idea of Hogan backing the young, mostly TNA-homegrown talent, are we just going to see Hogan and the TNA crew feuding with the Wolfpac? Nash, Hall, X-Pac.. toss in Steiner, maybe Foley (but kind of a weird fit for a "cool" group), and maybe Jarrett (again, not sure that he fits, even if he was part of the worst nWo incarnation ever).
It would be great if I thought we'd be able to get some good matches out of Nash, Hall, X-Pac, and the like (though Steiner has been impressing me lately), but what are the chances of that?
One funny feeling I'm getting, and I'm sure it's just me being crazy - what if the Kliq are going to run roughshod all over TNA for a few months, maybe actually work their asses off for the first time in over a decade, and then bail on TNA so they can try to cash in on one more run with WWE? While I'd say them going to WWE would then bring a "poison" back to WWE, it could actually have some impact if they actually built themselves up and turned their workrates around while in TNA. There certainly are money matches left with all these guys if they worked against the top talent in WWE - Hall and Nash could certainly draw for WWE against the likes of Cena, Batista, and Edge.
And of course it would pretty much be the final nail in the coffin for TNA if they are working things in a way to reach their ultimate goal of a final top run with WWE. Thinking of the booking there - it'd obviously be another invasion angle, but this time around, all the invaders are guys who were Vince's creation, really. They can bury TNA on WWE TV without even mentioning TNA by name by saying how they've trained to be top stars again by working out in the minor leagues, and now they're invading the place where the competition that's good enough and that they want to face exist.
Crazy ideas, I know, but so is the new revelation of X-Pac and Scott Hall (not to mention Hogan and Bischoff, though by now we've gotten over that) going to TNA.

I love getting emails everytime a new blog gets posted! This was a really fun read and I had no idea there was talk of Hall and X-Pac going to TNA. I gave your blog post a link over on our WWE Universe group page (http://fans.wwe.com/predictions) - hope that you have some more cool ideas to blog about in the future. :) Here's the blog post: http://tinyurl.com/ylkmbhm Posted on December 20, 2009 at 7:41 AM Season 14 Overall Rank: #266 (Rank in League: #8) |

Again I remembered this blog post after seeing the 1/4 edition of TNA Impact and somehow you were able to predict a lot about how their "big new reset with Hulk Hogan" came across. Kudos to you on that. "Hey, yo" would be a lot cooler (or, ahem, "just too SWEEEEET") if Hall could do something about his looks. Is whatever's wrong with his face (the bloating, saggy eyes, whatever it is) something that working out will resolve or is that just something he's stuck with without surgery? (I'd assume drinking and drugs have put him in this condition unfortunately) What is it with WWE having these old guys - Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H as really the front-runners - who still all look pretty good and can still perform amazingly. While TNA's old guys - now Hogan, Nash, Hall, Foley, Flair, Sting, and Steiner - all are starting to really look their age (not that Foley was ever a looker but you know what I mean) and really can't go at the level the "top veterans" from WWE can. And out of those guys, I think Hogan and Flair are the oldest, so look at the next tier of their old guys. I don't think any of them got into the business any earlier than HBK or Undertaker. Yet they just can't go or aren't willing to go like those two do. And then WWE has even a second tier of "veterans" - Jericho, Edge, Christian, etc. - who really can go. I guess TNA's version of that is Kurt Angle - and is a diamond in the rough when you look at the people TNA puts over as veterans.
