My First Week Picks for 4-UP Fantasy Wrestling

I thought I would share my first week picks for the fantasy wrestling game.  I really like the lineup of wrestlers we have to choose from this season.  Nexus has really done a lot for the wrestling product I think!

Main Eventer
Randy Orton

Orton is at the highest point of his career right now and should continue to be prominently featured on Raw and PPV through the entire season.  I would not be surprised if he becomes WWE Champion during the season, either.  So this I think is a good pick that could probably last you the whole season without needing to change it.  Even with the penalties for picking him too many times in one season, I think you'll still come out ahead with Orton.

Upper Midcarders
Daniel Bryan & The Miz

Yes, they're feuding right now - which makes me second guess myself, since you know one of them has to lose when they face off - but I could easily see Bryan winning the US title at Night of Champions, only to then see Miz cash in his briefcase to earn a WWE title shot.  So you'd come out strong with both of these guys on your roster.  If that doesn't happen, I would switch one of these picks to Wade Barrett possibly in the second game week.  This category is really tough, with other possible picks being World Heavyweight Champion Kane and the unlikely-to-lose (when not put in a title match) Big Show.

Midcarders
Alberto Del Rio & Justin Gabriel & Cody Rhodes

Del Rio is supposedly the next big thing on Smackdown, so he feels like a solid investment on your roster.  Gabriel gets featured very regularly due to his awesome 450 Splash.  And Rhodes is getting a lot of time these days with his new character, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him involved with the IC title through the season.  But this category may be even tougher than the Upper Midcarders with so many possibilities.  You also have Otunga from Nexus available, who could easily be featured more often than Gabriel due to his mic skills.  Evan Bourne could easily jump back into having a strong role on Raw.  Christian could be thrust into the main event any day (well, hopefully!).

Diva
Michelle McCool

I think she's a solid pick here for obvious reasons.  Too many choices here to not go with one of the top divas.

Tag Team
Tyson Kidd

Much like with the divas, it's best to just go with a champion, although in this category there are very few choices!  And many of these guys do get on Superstars regularly, so points can flow from any choice here.

Undercarders
Michael Tarver & Zack Ryder

Since Tarver is the only Nexus member in this category (not exactly sure why, but I guess I haven't seen much of his ring work so that could explain it), I feel like you have to make him a pick.  Ryder, well, I won't claim that there's anything behind that pick.  I like him, and I'd like to see him on Raw.  But swapping him with other choices is up to you.  Many of these guys are on Superstars, and Khali does get seen on Raw regularly.

Excited for the new season!  Europe's Elite will dominate!
