Back In the Day Show: Jerry "The King" Lawler
Welcome to another edition of Back In the Day Show. I am posting this show early this week because I will be out of town on friday. This week is about Jerry "The King" Lawler.
Jerry Lawler is The WWE most decorated Champion under employment right now with all of his championships coming outside of the WWE. Lawler is beloved by many for his commentating with good ol JR. Jerry was inducted into the Hall of fame and has great fueds and some really bad ones too. Over all Jerry is an Accomplished Ring wrestler and Commentator and he will likely be loved for his entire life. I am a fan in commenator only. he was not someone that appealed to me as a wrestler.
Wrestling accomplishments
Lawler has won more than 140 championships throughout his career, including one reign as American Wrestling Association World Heavyweight Champion and more than 50 reigns as American Wrestling Association Southern Heavyweight Champion. Lawler held the latter championship another 17 times when the National Wrestling Alliance controlled it. He is also a 3 time World Class Wrestling Association World Heavyweight Champion (United States Wrestling Association Unified World Heavyweight Champion in the third case). He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007. Overall he has held more championships than any other current WWE employee. Lawler, however, has never won any WWE singles or tag team championship since joining the company.
