Now a while ago I downloaded this game but I didnt play it often, however now I am addicted.

Download it and try it.

Review by nWoStyle "Best Wrestling Game, PERIOD."

I actually stumbled across Extreme Warfare Revenge (hereby referred to as EWR) while searching for a new wrestling game to play, it was the year 2002, and wrestling games hadn't come along too far to my standards yet. n64's No Mercy was a great game that was becoming unfortunately aged. smackdown was just a lackluster attempt, so I did not bother with that. So I turned to the only medium that had not let me down before, the almighty PC. It's quite ironic how I stumbled across EWR during one my my searches through gamefaqs. Ever since that faithful encounter with the simple premise of the game, I was instantly HOOKED. A wrestling management simulator?! this is WAY to good to be true! I had lots of issues with the way WWE was being run, by holding down talented workers like Tajiri or any ECW guy and having ridiculous stories to tie up the matches. So I decided, why not take it over and see what I can do. Ever since that faithful day, I've put in at least 1 hour a day to play EWR. it's that good.

THE BEST EVER... according to the eyes of any wrestling fan. I've seen wrestling more as a well scripted show, with the wrestlers as friends backstage and their amazing performances as testaments to how much they trusted each other with their bodies. I've never actually seen wrestling as real, I always knew it was scripted, and after Mick Foley falling off the hell in a cell circa 1995, not FAKE. This game appeals mainly to people who at least have a basic understanding of the mechanics of the wrestling business.
Anyhow, The game is very in-depth with the details of the business of pro wrestling. TV deals are made, Contracts and money are the name of the game, Just like the gritty world of pro wrestling. In the 4.0 version, at higher difficulties, I believe that backstabbing is possible, with one of your workers leaving you for another company, just like real life. Wrestlers are friends with others, while they may hate some. It's resource management, in money, personal, and every other aspect of the business. It's a way for a casual fan to push who they'd think SHOULD be champion and demote or fire people that don't even deserve to be there anymore. It puts power into your hands, and when there are names of REAL people involved, it's much more satisfying.
Every single aspect is explored, I cannot stress that more. You make the Feud, you Pick who want to fight who. You decide what's on the Card that night, you decide the fate of all your wrestlers and staff. The ultimate Power, a hardcore wrestling fan's wet dream.
let's see, let's talk about individual aspects of the game. The booking screens, where you evidentially Book segments for your TV show, or PPV. 80% of every matchup thought up in history is here, from the generic singles match to Hell in a Cell to even ECW Scaffold Matches or Barbed Wire Matches, even matches that have only appeared once are here, Inferno match, Buck Naked match, all here. Only a couple exceptions, for example, The NWATNA Ultimate X match, the Stretcher match, or any Flaming * insert object here * match. Those bigger gimmick matches aren't there, but there sure are enough other variations to quench every wrestling fan's appetite.
You pick the wrestlers for each match, you think you'll never see The Rock fight in a Barbed Wire Match? you can put him in there! but you can't force him to get hurt doing something sick. That's another aspect of the game, each wrestler has stipulations on what they are willing and not willing to do. Like you can't light the Rock on fire, but you CAN light Sabu on fire, or Mick Foley, or anyone willing to take a sick bump for the team. Aside from picking matches, you pick the finish of the match, it can be cheating, clean, etc. you name it, it's probably all here. Of Course, the more elaborate finishes that are overly complex aren't here. For Example, you can't really simulate the Montreal Screw job. But what you can simulate works like a charm.
It's great that the game revolves more on the business aspect of wrestling. you make or break yourself depending on what you can do with your money and wrestlers, have too many wrestlers that are not over and expensive (Kevin Nash) can do lots of damage in the long run, than less expensive talented people.
Sound: No sound! what am I supposed to put? It's a visual basic program! *use a music playing program to add your own music*
Graphics: well, it's Visual Basic, not much glamour there. in 4.0 version, you can obtain pictures of the wrestlers so you can at least identify them based on a face, not just a name and a statistic.
-For the sake of sounding fair, I'm not counting Graphics and Sound, because a game like this just simply doesn't require graphics or sound. other than the basic menu graphics.
Buy or Rent: why am I even having this here?! you can download EWR 4.0 for Free, so I guess, Download it.

The only bad aspect is it was released in 2005 so some stuff may be a little out of date. However if you have few hours to spare you can go to the "File editor" section. I did and i love it now!
