When I used to read this mans blogs I used to wonder why the WWE creative team didn’t hire him!

This particular blog entry came the day before Bret Hart was brought to Raw in 2010, a memorable moment but had WWE followed Steiner’s idea it may have made his return even better!

“With Bret Hart back in the mix on WWE, there's one thing that hasn't been brought up yet. Technically, he never lost the WWE Championship. The current champion, if we'd be playing by UFC rules, is just the interim champion.

What if Shawn Michaels is booked to face Sheamus for the WWE title at The Royal Rumble, and he wins the title... And in a real final closure to the Montral Screwjob between HBK and Bret Hart, HBK awards the title to Bret Hart. Hart could graciously accept the title and thank HBK for recognizing that he never truly lost that title in the first place.

Of course, Bret Hart can't exactly wrestle - at least not more than we're all expecting out of the likely McMahon vs. Hart WrestleMania 26 match. So he could say that finally, after all these years, he's able to do things the way he wanted to back in 1997: He's vacating the title on Raw. (that is what he had planned on doing before he was screwed back in 97)

This puts the WWE title up for grabs in an Elimination Chamber match where no one is the champion going on. (which, in reality, you can say no one IS champion once they've entered the Chamber)

It'd be a classy move to give Hart the acknowledgement that he could be considered still WWE champion and to allow him to do what he had wanted to do over a decade ago.

Shawn Michaels being the one to do it makes the most sense, that's why I'd book him against Sheamus. Perhaps winning the title will be a way to earn his shot against Undertaker at WrestleMania. Will it hurt Sheamus to lose to HBK? I don't think so, and Sheamus would certainly be a participant in the Chamber match. They could even have HHH and/or Hornswoggle interfere to keep Sheamus strong. I could see Sheamus demanding a rematch the next night on Raw, only to hear from HBK that HBK is no longer the champion. Then the awarding of the title to Hart would happen. Since he'd vacate the title, Sheamus would in essence be screwed out of his rematch, though the Chamber would technically be that for him. But he wouldn't like it - and they can ramp his character up even more intense as a result of all of this. So I think Sheamus could end up prospering over this, and of course I think the entire storyline would make for some great television.”

A good idea right?

Does it devalue the World Championship? I’m not sure but its stories like this that WWE need to take a risk with to have a better product.

Lets look at the facts of what happened, Sheamus dropped the title before Wrestlemania anyway and went on to face Triple H at Wrestlemania, that would have been no different had he dropped it a few weeks earlier to the Showstopper HBK.
The only problem is, Bret really was a mess, he cant wrestle anymore, He’s no Ricky Steamboat, so the match with McMahon was never going to work out well anyway.

But still don’t you think this was a great idea WWE should have picked up and adapted, I think so, cos then Shawn could have had one last championship in his grasp before he retired, and giving it up and facing Taker would show how much he wanted to end the streak. Ah well we can look back and say what was wrong, or we can look to the future, so my question to you guys is… How would you have booked this feud? And What are you most looking forward to at Raw 1000?
