Slammy Award Nominees & My Picks

WWE has released the categores for tomorrow night's Slammy edition of Raw with Dennis Miller.  Norm MacDonald would have been, oh, 10000x better!

Tag Team of The Year:
D-Generation X
JeriShow
Legacy / Priceless
Hart Dynasty

Really comes down to DX or JeriShow.  I'd go with DX to be honest.  JeriShow never fought "tough" matches - except against DX, who beat them what seems like every time.  DX fought in a Hell in a Cell and a TLC match..  JeriShow fought Cryme Time and MVP & Mark Henry.  I love JeriShow but I don't think they're much without Jericho on the mic.

Oh My God! Moment of the Year:
Shawn Michaels kicks girl in Cafeteria
Chris Masters' pec dance
Michael Cole throws up on Chris Jericho at SD! Party
Santino accidentally pies Vickie Guerrero on Thanksgiving RAW

HBK kicking the girl, for sure.  That was a funny moment.  Runner-up is Masters and his pec dance, though - it's ridiculous, but I find it funny!

RAW Guest Host of the Year:
Bob Barker

Shaq
Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne

I think Shaq will win, but my vote would go to Bob Barker.

Shocker of the Year:
Batista turns on Rey at Bragging Rights
Randy Orton DDTs Stephanie and kisses her as Triple H watches
CM Punk defeats Jeff Hardy in a Steel Cage Match, causing Hardy to leave WWE
Sheamus slams Mark Cuban through a table

The Orton DDT on Stephanie for sure.  Though I'm surprised they didn't include something from the HBK/Taker build - the casket trick that HBK pulled on Taker was great.

Breakout Star of the Year:
Drew McIntyre
Sheamus
Abraham Washington
Yoshi Tatsu

Wow.  Well, now that Sheamus is champ, can it be any more obvious?  I would have thought Kofi, though.  (breakout doesn't mean rookie, after all)

Extreme Moment of the Year:
Kofi Kingston boom drops Orton through a table at MSG
Big Show throws Cena through a searchlight at Backlash
Jeff Hardy dives off a 20-foot ladder onto Punk at SummerSlam
Triple H fights Randy Orton at his home and throws him through a window

Yawn.  None of these felt extreme to me.  They all felt extremely planned, to a fault.  I don't want anyone to get hurt, but all of these things were obviously set up.  I'd prefer something from during a match - Taker's dive to the floor against HBK.  DX locking out DiBiase from HIAC and destroying Rhodes.  Orton's attacks on various McMahons.  I would guess they'll go with Kofi here, though - he would benefit the most.

Match of the Year:
Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker, WrestleMania 25
Cena vs. Orton, I Quit, Breaking Point
Jeff Hardy vs. Edge, Ladder Match, Extreme Rules
Team RAW vs. Team Smackdown, Bragging Rights

This is a joke right?  HBK vs Taker is the clear winner.  But there had to have been better matches besides these other options!

Randy Orton
The Undertaker

Well, I think it should be Shawn Michaels..  Cena doesn't need it.  Orton shouldn't accept an award.  Taker wouldn't accept one as far as I know.  I'd be happy with Punk taking it.  It would fit his character.
