Question: Who will Bret Hart wrestle in his first match with WWE?

This is the big one, folks.  Hell has indeed frozen over and Bret Hart is returning to WWE.  He was officially announced tonight by Vince McMahon as the guest host for the January 4th, 2010 episode of Monday Night Raw - that's right, next week's episode.

Not only did we see a lot of teases for a feud with Vince McMahon (certainly the most obvious route for the Bret Hart storyline to go), but we also got Shawn Michaels interrupting, and after first sticking to only going after a WrestleMania match against Undertaker, he promised that only good things would happen if Bret Hart comes to WWE.  Which, apparently, made Vince change his mind about possibly putting a halt to bringing Hart in..  making you think perhaps Vince sensed from HBK that he will be more than happy to make Bret Hart's time in WWE a living hell alongside Vince.

It has been hinted that Bret Hart will at least work one match during his time with WWE.  Whether it's just going to be a "street fight" type match, where bumps are few and Hart can be protected as best as possible, or whether he's actually gotten some kind of medical clearance to really work one last match, no one really knows (except for Bret Hart and one would assume WWE). 

So this is perhaps the biggest question I feel I've ever put up on the site.  This is a big deal to me - I've been waiting since Survivor Series 1997 to see Bret Hart back on WWE TV.  The Hall of Fame doesn't count.  This is really it, and it's something I never thought I would see.  If you're not excited for this match, you need to go do some digging around in history and see what makes this such a huge deal!

cletus42o's Thoughts: Personally, I think it's all going to be one huge build to a match with Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 26,  but the Shawn Michaels comments during the segment make me question it a little bit.  From what I had thought, there was no chance Bret would agree to have any involvement with Shawn - but you'd have to think he "approved" what happened tonight.  And if Shawn got involved - I'd think there's going to be more involvement down the line.  So who knows?  I'd LOVE to see HBK and Hart go at it one last time - at WM26 possibly - though I do have to say I may think I'd rather see HBK and Undertaker at WM26, just because I'm not sure yet whether Hart can do enough to make it special.   But really - what else does HBK/Hart need other than a huge brawl? 

So I'm a little up in the air.  And I'm only keeping this question open until January 3rd - so any hints we may be getting from Bret Hart on next week's Raw will be too little too late for helping us answer this question.  But that's what will make it fun!
