Quick note for players: This first week of the game is going to have scores delayed slightly, since it's Memorial Day weekend. I'll be out of town until Sunday, so I'll try to run everything Sunday night. And as it's the first time running the scoring (besides for testing), there may be kinks that need to get worked out. So doing it Sunday night will give me plenty of time to make sure it's all working right!
And if you missed out on playing the first week, don't worry - you can still make picks for the 2nd week, and you'll still have plenty of time to win!
Anyway - I had a couple of questions from other admins, and I wanted to put them up so everyone can see them.
"1. Hornswoggle is left off the Raw roster" - Yeah, I decided not to put Hornswoggle as part of the fantasy game. I'm also not going to put Ric Flair. Also didn't put Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Probably others.
"2. Should there be points for being a guest announcer or is that just an Other-Appearance and what if that guest announcer gets involved as in the case of Maryse this week on Raw." - No, I decided not to do a Guest Announcer/Commentator attribute. Basically, if someone is guest commentator, they would get points for "Appearance: Other" - if they actually get both feet in the ring, it would instead be "Appearance: In Ring". If they interfere DURING the match (interference HAS to take place between the bells ringing), they'll get points for that - but they would HAVE to get physically involved. So you would check off both "Interfered in Match" and "Got Physically Involved". Note that if the guest commentator DID NOT interfere physically, they would only get points for Appearance: Other (or In Ring, based on if they entered the ring at some other point).
"3. What about points for attacks on guest announcers / announcers as happened with Edge on Smackdown and to the The King on Raw" - No points for that specifically.
"4. What about scoring for attacks on wrestlers in the ring that are just talking for example on Judgement Day when Santino got attacked." - No points for that specifically.
"5. Backstage attacks" - Same, no points for that.
"6. How do we score aftermatch attacks like what happened at Judgement Day with Legacy, Flair and Batista, I think I scored that wrong." - It doesn't get scored. The people involved would get points for "Appearance: In Ring" (if they got both feet in the ring), but that's it.
"7. What about points for number of finishers hit (this might be a bit much but it was an idea)." - No points for that.
Reason is I don't want it to be a chore to enter this data. I don't want someone to have to sit there and count these things - and in the case of a finisher, what would you do for "modified finishers" or things where they "halfway" hit their finisher. I don't want there to be any controversy, so I've kept the attributes as simple as possible.
On Judgment Day:
Charlie Haas "Wasn't sure how to score this one because both interference questions seem to apply to the valet or wrestler accompanying another wrestler. Sorry if I scored it wrong" - You would need to also check off "Got Physically Involved" since he did attack Morrison outside. Now, if Haas had JUST accompanied Benjamin to the ring, and NEVER got involved, he wouldn't have gotten points for anything at all except for Appearance: Other (which you did check off, that's good). Basically, the rule is this: if a match is in progress, and someone appears - that's interference (but not physical). If they attack, now it's BOTH interfered AND physically involved. BUT if someone was already out at ringside before the bell rung (like a valet, such as Haas in this case), they don't get points for any interference UNLESS they actually get physically involved - and at that point, they'll score points both for interfered AND physically involved.
Cody Rhodes "Again not sure if this was the right way to score this, it will be the same with Dibiase because the interference happened after the match. The interference description says after the bell rings but isn't clear on whether an after match attack would count towards getting involved." - Right, so in these cases, since the closing bell for the match had rung already, they're not interference. But they would just get Appearance: In Ring. Note that there was a mistake before on the page, where it let you check both Appearance: In Ring, and Appearance: Other. Now you can only select one or the other. (so if you wouldn't mind unchecking Other for them, I'd appreciate it)
Also just to note that the two categories, In Match and Made Appearance, only the highest-scoring of those two categories gets counted for the wrestler. So if someone Appeared: In Ring, and lost a Massive FFA match, they'd only get points for the Appeared: In Ring.
For Raw:
For Santino - he had two matches. So you would have to check off "Competed in Multiple Matches", and then for the way to score the match - you'd want to pick the match he would have scored more in. I am pretty sure he won the first match, so you'd probably want to use that one for the points. (so you'd do Singles, Won: Pinfall, and then Competed in Multiple Matches - he should end up with 22 points)
Also, if for some reason the little points total isn't working in the top-right of each wrestler's box, don't worry - I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working for you, but it doesn't matter. That's just there to help you see how the attributes are working out. The number there isn't getting stored in a database or used anywhere else. The real score is calculated on the back-end when I run things at the end of the week. As long as the checkboxes are working for you, you're golden.
