WWE Breaking Point 2009 Prediction Game Open + Current Predictions

1473 Views

WWE's Breaking Point is the very first PPV kicking off season 6 here at the site!  The game has technically been opened for a week or so, but now that there are a few big matches officially announced, it was time to kick off the promotion of the game.

Right now this looks like it will have an amazing main event, featuring the return of The Undertaker (after the GREAT return they gave him at SummerSlam - I'd rank that up there as one of the best-produced returns of all-time, seriously) facing off against World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk - I am seriously sold on this show based on that one match alone.  I am extremely interested in seeing how the two of them work together.  I'm a little concerned that the first bout between the two is a gimmick match, but I suppose if they're building towards a Hell in a Cell match between the two the following month, it can work out.

I could definitely see Undertaker going over in the submission match, only to drop it back to Punk in HIAC - because I have a hard time thinking they'd have Punk beat Taker by submission of all things.  Even with interference, how do you force the Dead Man to tap out?  Of course the alternative is a non-finish, but I would be disappointed with that unless it was preceded by an amazing battle.  I'll try to save the rest of my thoughts for later, but I can't hide my excitement for this particular match!

Now, you may see I have decided NOT to put Dolph Ziggler vs Rey Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship on the card yet.  I would bet most of you know why as we're lucky here to have some of the brightest fans on the web - but if you did miss the story, Mysterio has been suspended and plans are definitely going to be changing - we just don't know quite how they'll change, so I'm going to wait and see before adding an IC title match to the card.  (for all we know, they may not even have a match for the IC title on the show in the end)

Also, PLEASE read the note attached to the question about D-X involvement in the WWE Championship Match.  My reasoning for putting that question on the game is that it's been rumored that Triple H and Randy Orton would be facing off in a Hell in a Cell match at some point - and the next PPV is obviously the place for it.  So I think the question fits well at this point in time.  But please ask me any questions you have about what would happen in certain scenarios - I'm happy to answer any and all emails or comments sent my way.

So now, on to the game - current standings are included, though note that the newest matches and questions have not had a chance to get answered by that many people.  But I figured why not include them?

*** Will D-Generation X interfere in any way in the WWE Championship Match?

-- 7 points for correct answer
-- 4-Down Note: "It must be revealed during the PPV that D-X caused any type of interference in the match. If the microphone cuts out when the referee is asking either Cena or Orton if they quit, but we do not find out until Raw that D-X was behind it, it will not count for the purposes of this PPV game. Music playing (D-X's, HBK's, or HHH's) or the signature D-X green pyro or lighting effects going off during the match (or any other things you would automatically attribute to D-X), without an actual appearance by any member or without showing them backstage causing the problems, will also not count. It has to be 100% known by the close of the PPV. Choose wisely. Feel free to submit a question to us if you want to know if a scenario you have in mind would result in you earning points for this question."

Yes : 50.00%

Good luck everyone!

apsouthern (Andrew Southern) ECW scores are in @fourdown.org - enjoy while it lasts...
WWEsAngel_Nef (Tenechia Haynes) @fourdown The crowd was already popping HARD for Orton during the breaks. It was crazy RKO chants all night.
fourdown (fourdown.org) Season rankings are all done now.
fourdown (fourdown.org) If Shawn Michaels faces Undertaker at WM26, it will be HBK's first PPV singles match since facing Undertaker at WM25. Most likely.
fourdown (fourdown.org) Rankings for the Rumble are complete! Now I'm scoring all the free-floating Rumble questions, then season ranks will be run.
apsouthern (Andrew Southern) @fourdown no problem
fourdown (fourdown.org) @apsouthern I doubt there's any reason I'd need to use the backup. If I need to, I'll make a backup of the scores you entered first. Thanks!
apsouthern (Andrew Southern) @fourdown Just put RR scores in for 4-UP - do you need me to do them again if you're running a back-up?
fourdown (fourdown.org) Getting ready to run the results for the Royal Rumble now. Making a quick backup of the database first. :)
fourdown (fourdown.org) @sagefreehaven LOL
fourdown (fourdown.org) @WWEsAngel_Nef I would love to see Orton set up the RKO with a kick to the gut. The crowd would go crazy,
fourdown (fourdown.org) Orton seems more over in this match than he ever was during his first world title reign.
apsouthern (Andrew Southern) @fourdown Yeah I noticed you'd run them, never mind - I'm trying to keep track of the Rumble as well
fourdown (fourdown.org) @apsouthern I already ran the scores for last week. I want to say I gave McCool points for being in a match, but none for winning.
