-Thoughts on the EV 2.0 Invasion in TNA? will it help ratings?
and
-And Dick and John break down the state of the Unified Tag Team Championships all that and more here on the edawg32 show!
So now let's send it to Dick. Hereeee's Dick!!
Topic 1: Thoughts on Raw
D: Alright well this past week on Monday Night Raw we saw Team Cena dissemble before our eyes. Do you think this was a great idea for Raw to put Team Cena on thin ice going in to face the Nexus at SummerSlam?
J: Yea I mean its part of the story, maybe even thought Team Cena may not like each other, they walk into SummerSlam and defeat the Nexus, at least that's what I'm hoping and maybe the Nexus won't last after that. The way I look at it is every member on the Nexus have the ability to have great singles careers, not formed by this group The Nexus, but making there own careers. Nexus may not last as long as people think.
D: It should be interesting to see how they end Nexus, but what are your thoughts on The Miz? Everytime he's about to cash in Money In The Bank, he's interupted. Does The Miz win the WWE Championship before SummerSlam?
J: Honestly its a possibility. I don't know how else they would fit The Miz into SummerSlam at this point. It would make the main event for SummerSlam a triple threat most likely as Sheamus vs. Orton vs. The Miz(c) would be the match, which it kinda looks like it will be, orr, Sheamus will face Orton at SummerSlam and after the match, The Miz will cash in and win. So that's my opinion.
D: Either way though, The Miz wins the championship?
J: At first I would've said no, but now that The Miz has really made an impact, I say yes now, and it could be soon.
D: Alright well lets move on to our next topic.
Topic 2: EV 2.0 Invasion Thoughts
D: Well don'ts try and be confused if you don't watch TNA, the EV 2.0 Invasion is exactly like the ECW invasion in WWE back in 2006. So what are your thoughts on this John?
J: First of all, I would I was ready some stuff where some people say the EV 2.0 Invasion was stolen by WWE and they used it with the Nexus, but you know what, TNA just stole all ECW guys to put together this Invasion that WWE did a few years ago, so before any TNA fan says WWE stole the idea, I'm pretty sure TNA has stole alot from WWE, so if WWE does steal a little something from TNA, it would be finishing moves, and thats it. Anyway, I think the Invasion is a boost to TNA ratings, considering that the Hogan regime has really failed to this point as ratings are smaller. I think TNA screwed up by bringing in Hogan and Bischoff because it wasn't the TNA all the original TNA fans were used to watching. The EV 2.0 Invasion will boost the ratings, but not by much.
D: So here's a question that is probably on alot of people's mind, does TNA ever pass up WWE in ratings in the future?
J: In the future, its possible because Vince McMahon could be dead then so it may not be the same. TNA is rushing things, there rushing things by bringing in Hogan and Bischoff because they think they have what it takes to one-up WWE right now, but they don't. Your talking about a company that first had WrestleMania in 1985 and hasn't slowed down. It took them that long to become this popular now. TNA has to be patient and slow down or WWE will run them out of business.
D: Alright well it looks like TNA has some work to do, so let's move on.
Topic 3: State of the Unified Tag Team Championships
D: The Unified Tag Team Championships have been around for little over a year now, so John that being said, what are your thoughts on the Unified Tag Team Championships, and how well they've done?
J: Well when I first heard of the WWE Uniting the Tag Team Championships and the World Tag Team Championships, I was kinda like ohh boy, this won't be good. However, they make it work really well. After Primo & Carlito, they throw in teams like Edge and Chris Jericho or Big Show and Chris Jericho or even The Miz & Big Show to spice up the championships. Also they made a big move of throwing DX into the bunch, and in fact since the WWE Tag Team Championships were brought to WWE by Stephanie McMahon, DX became the 30th WWE Tag Team Champions.
D: So after seeing the Unified Tag Team Championships for awhile, do you think they will continue?
J: Well yea I would hope so, they've been really successful in my opinion and have the possibility to really be great considering both shows can win the championships.
D: Now if the championships start to struggle, what does the WWE do?
J: Well that's simple, you strap it on main event guys like they did with Jericho & Big Show or Edge & Jericho to give the championships more recognition and then you can move it back to the more tag team like teams like The Hart Dyansty and The Usos.
D: Alright sounds like a plan, lets move on to the Tidbits!!
Little Tidbits
WWE B-Days
D: Well Triple H is now 41 and Dolph Ziggler has turned 30 so congratulations to them and a Happy Birthday as well!
Dawn Marie
J: Yes apparentley Dawn Marie was using some type of steroid when she was with WWE but of course had denied the fact so we will keep you updated on that/
Linda Hogan
D: Well yes Linda Hogan is now engaged to her 21 year old boyfriend, man it seems as if Linda as become some type of a, well you know what I'm saying.
Bret Hart Weddding Details
J: Yes Bret did get married, but get this, his wife is 29 years old, so Bret digs younger chicks I guess, but never-the-less, congrats!
Mick's back!!!
D: And on one last note, Mick Foley has returned ladies and gents, to referee RVD vs. AJ Styles for the TNA Heavyweight Title at a house show in North Carolina, so yay for Mick! And one more Tidbit from John!
TNA Global Championship
J: Apparently the name wasn't good enough as now TNA has changed the name of the Global Championship to the Television Championship, so thats interesting.
D: Alright well that does it for the Tidbit now John will break down an Underrated Superstar of today.
Underrated Superstar of Today:
Mark Henry
J: You know, I'm sick of tuning into Raw every week and seeing Mark Henry get destoryed. I mean come on, give the guy a break and put him up in the world, give him the United States Championship. He made a great ECW Champion and now is just being overlooked, I wana see more of the guy that everyone was afraid of, so maybe WWE could step up Mark Henry.
D: Alright well now let's send to Edawg for What Happened on this Day?
What Happenend on This Day?
Alright thanks Dick, but yes on this day, July 28th back in 2008, John Cena and Batista defeated JBL & Kane on Raw. After the match Mike Adamle was announced has the new GM of Raw and made an imediate impact, making a blockbuster match for SummerSlam, John Cena vs. Batista. As we know, that was the first time the two met one on one. Batista would win the match.
Alright well that does it for Dick, John, and myself. I hope you all join us next time, don't forget if you have a topic that you want talked about, pleaseeee post it int he comment section. Also don't forget to vote on the daily poll. Thanks! See Ya!
