WWE Gamma 2.0 SmackDown 8/24, Week 118

We are in Bakersfield, California tonight and what a show it should be as were coming off the eve of SummerSlam as Michael Cole & Josh Matthews welcome everyone to the show!

Wade Barrett & The Nexus come out. Barrett complains about being robbed at SummerSlam, even though he wasn't. He then calls Booker out. Booker comes out and tells Wade he lost fair and squar. Wade then says he has a letter from the WWE Board of Directors stating General Manager Booker T overstepped his authority at SummerSlam and that the Board of Directors is placing Wade Barrett in the WWE Championship Match at Night of Champions. The crowd boo's. Booker doesn't know what to say and just walks away but then turns around with his mic. He then announces that tonight Wade Barrett will go one on one with the returning Brodus Clay in the main event as the crowd cheers.

Santino Marella def. David Otunga to become #1 Contender for the Intercontinental Championship with the Cobra. After the match, Kofi Kingston came out and shook Santino's hand as they will meet at Night of Champions for the Intercontinental Championship.

Alberto Del Rio is in the back and walks into Booker T's office. He complains that he is sick of taking the backseat and wants a shot at the WWE Championship. Booker says we'll see if you cant beat the champion. Tonight, you go one on one with Sheamus. The crowd likes this.

JInder Mahal def. Percy Watson via Referee Stoppage. Great matchup here but Mahal makes Watson pass out to the Camel Clutch

Randy Orton comes out to a huge pop from the crowd but he is looking down the whole time. He says he's frustrated at himself that he didin't get revenge last night. He says the fact is, he never was pinned and never submitted. Orton then challenges Brock Lesnar to a rematch at Night of Champions in an Anything Goes Matchup where you can only win by Pinfall or Submission, not referee stoppage. Brock's music hits but he doesn't come out. Instead, Paul Heyman comes out! The crowd is shocked! Paul Heyman is here! Paul Heyman gets in with a mic. He tells Randy Orton, that his client, Brock Lesnar, has nothing more to prove and will not accept a rematch. The crowd boo's as Heyman walks out. Orton just watches Heyman exit and can't believe it. Orton just drops his mic and walks out.

WWE Champion Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio ends in a No Contest when the Nexus comes out and beats down both Sheamus & Del Rio. Another uncalled for attack from the Nexus.

John Cena comes out to a huge pop. John explains how SummerSlam was an emotional night. He says that behind the rivalry and behind the scenes, Chris Jericho knew that his contract would expire here on the 24th of August. The crowd boo's. John says that Chris is here tonight and wants him to come out here. Chris gets in with a mic. John tells him that it was a hell of a match at SummerSlam and it was an honor to face him. The crowd cheers. Jericho then gets back in with his mic. He thanks John and the crowd for everything. John then stops him. He says how about one more match tonight. You and I, team up to take on a tag team in the back. The crowd cheers as Jericho smiles. Jericho agrees to the match and shakes John's hand. Well Cena & Jericho team up tonight! We then find out, Epico & Primo will be there opponents later.

Kelly Kelly def. Kaitlyn. After the match, Alicia Fox comes out and beats down Kelly and nails the Scissors Kick. Then Teddy Long comes out and says that Kelly will recieve one last chance at the Diva's Title at Night of Champions by order of Booker T. The crowd cheers.

Backstage we see Alicia upset and she walks in by Cody. Cody is telling her to calm down. He tells her she will win at Night of Champions, guarenteed. Cody then says he wants to make a statement. Cody leaves with his briefcase when the camera follows and we see Rey Mysterio in the back when Cody Rhodes just nails him in the back with the briefcase! Cody nails him over and over with it until security comes with Booker T and they pull Cody away but Rey has been beaten down! Why is Cody doing this? Non the less, Chris Jericho's last match under his contract his next!

Chris Jericho & John Cena def. Epico & Primo via Submission. Chris Jericho won the match by making Epico tap out to the Walls of Jericho. Jericho thanked the fans as he walked out and gave Cena a hug. Well Jericho will be dearly missed but at least he went out with a win.

We see that next week, Triple H will be here to talk about the Undertaker and his SummerSlam loss. Meanwhile, Wade Barrett and the Nexus are on the way to the ring and the main event is next.

Brodus Clay def. Wade Barrett via DQ. The Nexus would get involved and come in and attack Brodus Clay but Sheamus would come out which would cause the Nexus to flee as Sheamus still has a bloody lip from earlier. Booker T's music then hits. He comes out and says that indeed Wade Barrett will be in the WWE Championship Match at Night of Champions but so will 5 other men. The crowd cheers. The match will be a 6-Man, Brawl for it All Match with the only way to win is by pinfall or submission. He announces that the other five participants will be Rey Mysterio, Cody Rhodes, John Cena, Alberto Del Rio, and of course the WWE Champion Sheamus. The crowd cheers! And suckas, the Nexus is band from ringside! The crowd cheers. Sheamus has a smile on his face at that last comment but also has 5 other opponents for Night of Champions! Goodnight everyone!
