Over the Limit Chances

WWE has been flying high for a few months now. The Road to Wrestlemania had as many exciting turns as ever. Wrestlemania was loved by some, hated by others, but talked about by all. And I feel that Extreme Rules was an "extremely" successful PPV with quality matches and exciting stipulations. Now we come to Over the Limit, one of the only pay per views on the WWE calendar without a theme (which may become the trend as I have read Bragging Rights has now been renamed WWE Uprising). On paper, Over the Limit looks quite underwhelming. The Miz/Cena rivalry continues, the painful-to-watch Cole/King feud is STILL ONGOING (please end this, WWE), and Christian gets his rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship. I hope I'm wrong. I hope this turns out to be a PPV we can watch and say, "I feel satisfied. No need for that bubble bath I was planning."

OVER THE LIMIT CHANCES

WWE Tag Team Championship Match

Big Show and Kane - 71%
CM Punk and Mason Ryan - 29%

I love this match. I'm so glad it was added to the card. I never trust WWE when it comes to making good decisions regarding their tag division, but it looks like they have put together a team in Big Show and Kane that brings credibility and solidification to the division. And while I also love the Nexus and it is great that they are getting another small push, I don't see them toppling the giants in this particular match-up. Now, if they want to build a 2-3 month rivalry, that's a different story. I have a suspicion that big Mason Ryan thinks he can do better than the Nexus, though. So we may see another Ezekiel Jackson-like departure from his stable.

Rey Mysterio vs R-Truth

R-Truth - 55%
Rey Mysterio - 45%

These type of matches are tough to predict. It has no real meaning in the broad scope of things so do you go with the fan favorite or the man who has recently turned heel? In this case, I give the slight edge to R-Truth. His cartoonish villain turn has been entertaining the past few weeks and I think WWE is going to push him a while longer. Maybe he can hold a decent rivalry for a few months with Rey until Morrison comes back for revenge.

Kiss My Foot Match

Michael Cole - 75%
Jerry Lawler - 25%

Believe me, I want Cole to get the hell beaten out of him as much as you do. I just don't think it is going to happen. We've gone this far without him receiving any scratches, so why would it change now? This storyline has gone on far too long and it annoys me to hear Cole speak out in character now. I think this whole storyline is a mistake.

Intercontinental Championship Match

Wade Barrett - 60%
Ezekiel Jackson - 40%

This could turn out to be an excellent match. Both of these guys are very talented. Barrett hasn't defended his Intercontinental Championship much since winning it, so I give him the better chance of defending it and holding on to it for a few more months. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Big Zeke come out on top, even if the rest of the Corre gets involved.

World Heavyweight Championship Match

Randy Orton - 98%
Christian - 2%

It's good to see Christian get a decent rematch at a PPV, but there is hardly any chance he comes out on top in this one. SuperOrton has taken over Smackdown and I don't see that belt coming off of his waist until Survivor Series at the earliest.

WWE Championship "I Quit" Match

John Cena - 99%
The Miz - 1%

I'm sorry to make it look so lopsided. The Miz was a great WWE Champion, but he's not going to win it back from SuperCena this easily. Cena has been in a few "I Quit" matches and has had some crazy stuff done to him. I remember him hanging by handcuffs over the ringpost and Randy Orton beating him senseless with a kendo stick. He didn't say I Quit then, why would he say it against the Miz?



In my opinion, this will be a subpar PPV. Mainly, because the major title matches look so one-sided to me. However, we could be surprised by the quality of the matches. Orton and Christian put on a good show when they fought on Smackdown. Cena and Miz have done well in the past except Wrestlemania. The undercard looks like it could be sufficient as well....so who knows???? Comment if you know.
