The Damage Report...The RVD Beatdown.. By Brian Damage
Okay... So...RVD comes back to a huge pop from the crowd..beats the Icon Sting in like 5 seconds... then...Sting beats him down for like 15 minutes. Wrestling fans all over are crying 'foul!' Lets talk about this.......
For years TNA has tried to turn Sting heel. It simply cannot be done. He's a monster babyface. The same was said about Hogan...and well, we know what happened there.
Earlier... Sting bat down Hogan and Abyss with a bat. Now...many of the TNA fans cheered this action because frankly, they don't like Hogan and his buddies taking over the show. So, this action by Sting is applauded more than booed. So...to give Sting the heel credibility he is shooting for.... to get real heat from the crowd, they have him beat down The Number One Free Agent in Wrestling ....the whole f'n show.. RVD... Do you hate Sting now? Of course you do!!!! I hate him.. you hate him, we all hate him. Moreover, we hate what they are doing with the whole RVD debut.
It's easy to find fault in something that has already been booked. Hindsight is 20-20. They did what they did....and we criticize it. We have been doing the same thing with the WWE . These guys... Russo, and Bischoff and whoever else are the 'Brain Trust' in TNA are writing this stuff.. They come up with the story lines. The angles, the matches.
and we come back after the fact and say.."Well, I would have done this...or that.." I would have had RVD do a promo...and and then have him do his thumb thing... and the kick thing... and etc... etc.. It's easy for us to say that. Because it has already happened. These guys are taking it from scratch and creating what we see every week. I say...let the chips fall where they may. If Hogan sinks the ship so be it. I guess TNA only did a 1.0 in the ratings. WWE did a 3.5. With Chris Angel as the host of Raw, no less.
But think of the whole 'tuning sting heel' business. They said it couldn't be done. They did.

I had no issue with RVD's debut or anything like that. Sting turning heel was definitely something new and shocking...but that was the only thing on TNA that i really enjoyed. the rest was so boring.. March 19, 2010 at 2:39 AM |

I don't think sting turning heel is new or different. Everyone should have seen it coming the second they annouced hogan was signing with tna. I do find it interesting that Sting has said the reason he didn't go to wwe was because of the rock beating down Booker T in the ring after Booker beat down some other guys. Sting was SUPPOSED to be heel in the Main Event Mafia....but still had heat with Angle over the World Title...and I do remember that quote about not going to the WWE.. now lets see if RVD remains 'unimportant'... March 19, 2010 at 7:24 PM |
