What's Up With That? (WWE's No Blood Rule)
Hello and welcome to the "What's Up With That? Show. I'm your host Dare2believe and this week we're not going to talk about any one star or faction, but something that is missing from WWE matches as of late.......BLOOD!
World Wrestling Entertainment has a PG rating for all of its programming. I get that. With the PG rating the company is reaching out to families to not only tune in on Monday and Friday's but to perhaps attend the live events held around the country.
However, along with this rating comes the "no-blood" rule, which means sometimes matches are stopped when a superstar has a cut and the crimson flows. I have to ask....
"What's Up With That?"
Afterall, this is professional 'rasslin for crying out loud! Back in the day, even before we had plasma television or high def, even before there was color we had wrestlers bleed in matches. Come on, blood is part of the mystique of professional wrestling!
I really enjoyed the segment last night (February 7) on Raw when CM Punk received a broken and bloody nose....now that was cool. I'm not saying I want blood in each and every match, but I would love to see some old-fashioned bloodbaths!
No, I'm not morbid or deranged, I just love the realism that blood brings to the squared circle. I enjoy seeing my favorite and not so favorite overcome the blood and be victorious in his match.
Come on WWE, bring back the blood!
