What's Up With That Special Edition (TNA Programming)

Hello everyone and welcome to this special episode of "What's Up With That?" I'm Dare2Believe your host and for this special I'm going to ask the question to the programers of Spike TV's TNA Impact.

It's Thursday night and I just finished watching tonight's edition of Impact. I have to say, I am totally disgusted at the events of tonight's show. I saw The Pope, Diangelo Dinero backstage with a "blind man, lame man, and a fat woman." He was rehearsing "healing" them! I am thinking, "surely they are not going to do this!"

A few segments later and sure enough, he has all three in the center of the ring. Pope is dressed in white. He explains to the fans that he is going to "heal" these folks tonight. He begins with the blind man, he takes off the man's glasses and asks him to kiss his ring. The fellow cannot "see" the ring and misses it. Pope then says he's going to use "holy water" and then spits in hands and lays his hands on him to perform the miracle. The man claims he can then see.

Next up, The Pope turns to the fellow in the wheel chair. He says he's been a parapalegic since a diving accident. He kicks the guy in the legs to "prove" that there is no feeling in his legs. The "cripple" was a bad actor as well because he was rubbing his leg after Pope kicked him. After Dinero lays hands on this guy the man gets up out of the wheel chair and dances a jig, healed of his problem.

Finally, The Pope turns to the fat lady. He lays hands on her belly and then proclaims that even "Jesus" can't do anything for her! There are those out there that truly need healing whether it be physically or mentally. To say that Jesus can't help some one is totally wrong and borders on blasphemy! That took the cake for me!

I've got to ask TNA this question, "WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?"

I have posted in the past about Ric Flair's "god complex", Jeff Hardy's "antichrist of wrestling" claim but tonight's episode was over the top. It was totally without taste, classless, and a insult to Christian believers all over.

No man has the power to heal as the Pope claims. Granted there are some that are anointed by God Almighty to do exploits such as healing and such, but remember this power comes from above and not from some writers backstage!

Total Nonstop Action is losing it in my opinion. I was totally turned off by this segment tonight and felt insulted by not only Elijah Burke, Spike TV, but also by the management of TNA!

If they are going to continue with this sort of programming I am considering turning my channel to CBS and watching CSI on Thursday's from now on. Don't get me wrong, I still love wrestling and always will. But segments such as this tonight really upset me and make me want to throw up. I can't believe they allowed this to go on. It was a waste of about 15 minutes.

TNA prides themselves at least in the beginning as being Total Nonstop Action. Where's the action? What little there are, it's certainly not "nonstop." TNA, Dixie Carter and all other powers that be over there, get your heads on straight. Get back to the basics that made people like me want to watch your show. I for one want to see WRESTLING, not tasteless segments such as the one with Pope tonight.
