What's Up With That? (Michael Cole)
Happy Anniversary to me. Today is March 26, 2010 and it marks the 1st year anniversary of me, Dare2believe, being on the 4 Down website as a active member. I'm looking forward to the next year and seeing what will transpire in the wrestling world and reading your blogs, predictions to follow.
But you have tuned in to see the "What's Up With That Show?" Let's get right to it. Enjoy.
I have watched the evolution of Michael "And I Quote" Cole for several months. In the beginning he was portrayed as a kind and considerate announcer, but in the past few months coinciding with the rise of The Miz, it seems that Michael Cole has changed his philosophy.
At first, I thought "this is okay, he's going to be a heel announcer for a while." I didn't have a problem with that whatsover but...........
I believe I really became annoyed with Cole after he became the official spokesman/E-mail reader for the anonymous RAW general manager with his, "May I have your attention please, I have received an E mail from the RAW general manager....And I Quote!"
I learned to put that out of my mind but lately he has went on several rants about his "bromance" if you will of The Miz. He sings the WWE champion's praise week in and week out. And now, he is facing Jerry "the King" Lawler in a match at the upcoming Wrestlemania. He even has Jack Swagger "training" him and cannot be around Lawler except in the plexiglass cubile now known as the "Cole-mine." The ankle lock submission he has learned from Swagger has been called the "AnCOLE lock."
After watching Smackdown last night on SyFy and seeing him get on top of the desk screaming at R-Truth and ranting on and on about him and talking about how he was going to do this and that to Lawler at 'Mania I found myself saying out loud, "WHY DON'T YOU SHUT UP ALREADY!!!"
So my question for WWE and Michael "And I quote" Cole is this...."What's Up With That?"
He has become so overbearing in his announcing or lack thereof that I find myself wanting to press the mute button on the remote. If it weren't for Booker T and the other announcer (sorry, can't remember his name at this point) I beleive I would watch the Friday night program on silence.
I certainly hope that Jerry Lawler cleans his clock at Wrestlemania in a few days and that after this, Cole will settle down and go back to being a professional announcer, which in my opinion is more suitable for him. I sure pray that WWE does not have it in their "creative" minds to have Cole defeat Lawler. If so, that will take the cake.
Lawler deserves so much better than Michael Cole. He's a good broadcaster and is very professional in his job, since maturing from wanting to see "puppies" during the "Attitude Era." The best thing WWE could do at least for the RAW brand, other than stopping the anonymous RAW general manager gimmick would be to bring back good ol' JR to the announce table!

I'm not afraid to admit that when Cole first became a heel I really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed it when he started praising The Miz, as I too am a huge Miz fan. But recently I have found myself becoming very aggrevated with Cole. I cannot wait for Jerry to knock his block off, and I have no doubt that he will. I think they are building Cole up like this, so that at Wrestlemania he can get absolutely demolished, resulting in a Stone Cold Stunner from steve. Yes I did say poopyhead; it's my new word of the month. I have been using it lately in school, etc. And the only diva I like is Kelly Kelly and ever since she has moved to Smackdown, whenever a diva's match comes on during Raw, I use the facilities/get a snack/not watch the match in general POOPYHEAD!
