What's Up With That? (Michael Cole Version 2)
Good day everone and welcome to "What's Up With That?" Hopefully becoming a favorite show among you guys and get some much needed ratings (hint, hint). I'm Dare2believe, your host and today our topic is no one's favorite announcer (at least not mine) Michael "And I Quote" Cole.
For the past few months we have listened to the rants of Michael Cole on both Raw and Smackdown. Instead of him easing off a bit he has gotten worse. Now he's doing not only commentary, but he's competing in the ring! "What's Up With That?"
I have already talked about "Sir" Michael Cole in a past show, but this guy continues to annoy me. He almost and I repeat, ALMOST makes me want to listen to Vicke Guerrero talk!!!
At Wrestlemania he was to face Jerry "The King" Lawler in a match. At first Jerry won, but the anonymous Raw GM overrode that decision and awarded the victory to Cole. Now we have to hear him talk about his "undefeated" streak at Wrestlemania.
Not only that, but I have saw him in recent week begin to put down good ol J.R. (Jim Ross), who by the way IS THE VOICE OF THE WWE, (not Michael Cole). He has squirted JR's own BBQ sauce on the Hall of Fame broadcoaster, applied his ankle lock more than once and in a couple of weeks will be teaming with Jack Swagger to take on the team of Jerry Lawler and JR.
Last night on Raw we saw the "knighting" of Michael Cole. "What's Up With That? A Queen Elizabeth impersonator came out and "knighted" Cole. After the "knighting" he demanded that JR and King come in and kiss his feet. Upon entering the ring, he and Swagger beat them down. Cole had removed one shoe which by the way Michael when you say kiss my feet and only remove one shoe that is a FOOT not feet!. Upon removal of his shoe and sock the camera shoes a rash or infection or whatever on his foot. Swagger forces JR down to kiss the foot of "Sir" Michael Cole. Had it been me, I believe I would have bit his foot or big toe as hard as I could!!!
I have to ask the WWE creative staff something. Is your writing so bad with the Superstars that now you have to attempt to create a story using the announcers? Or is the talent so weak that you have to insert the broadcasters into the story to draw fans? Think about that. You are still the leader in the wrestling/sports entertainment industry, don't take that for granted because the fans are wanting something special from you.
Back to Michael Cole, the subject of the show. He continues to stay in his "Cole mine" cubicle (a glass cage to protect him from Lawler I suppose) and continues to blast Lawler during the broadcast, not to mention JR. He clearly is for the "heels" in the ring and against the "babyfaces". What happened Michale Cole? "What's Up With That?"
Get back to the basic. Be a broadcast journalist like the fans expect. Leave the wrestling to the real wrestlers. Be fair. Be balanced. If you want to continue to love The Miz, that's fine, just don't annoy the viewers with your love fest!!!

Cole has been annoying. but at the same time everyone wants to see Cole get killed which is why h's int he matches. I want to see JR pin Cole and take his job back. I agree with everything else you said. I still wonder what is up with Sheamus wearing usa ring attire being irish? I know he's the US champion but still. What's up with that? it's the latter. but still I have to ask why? I'm okay with Sheamus as US champion he's a credible champion. I just don't know why he changed his attire and what the significance to it is. Ugh, this Cole angle should have ended at Mania. I have no idea where they're going with the knighting/feet kissing spot unless its going to lead to Lawler bringing back Isaac Yankum to make Cole kiss his feet. Love the Isaac Yankum reference Dan. Every time I think of Kane with the curly hair I laugh. As for the Cole thing they really should pull the plug before somebody snipes his ass from the cheap seats (figuratively not literally.) I liked Kane more as fake Diesel. The Cole thing has went on too long and it is losing fans for the WWE. People don't want to hear the new annoying Cole through every segment of Raw and Smackdown. Commentators DO NOT need to be faces or heels. They need to be neutral and help get everyone over. TNA does it right. WWE did it right for years with JR, King, and Cole. Then they started the current trend. Striker was unbearable for a while, but Cole takes it to another level. We know he's a good announcer, but he has lost credibility and that's sad.
