What's Up With That? (WWE Hall of Fame)
Welcome one and all to another post Wrestlemania episode of "What's Up With That?" I'm Dare2believe and I'm posing the question to the WWE Hall of Fame and the USA Network.
For several years now the USA Network has aired the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for the WWE. Mostly on Saturday night prior to Wrestlemania. But since I can remember they only give significant TV time tto about 3 superstars and their induction speeches and they are mostly edited for time restraints. I've got to know, "What's Up With That?"
I believe the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Baseball Hall of Fame gives each inductee the quality time for their speech and for them to enjoy their last major accomplishment of their chosen profession. The WWE only spotlights 2 or perhaps 3 inductees each year.
Now I understand the network's time restraints and all, but I think these guys and gals that are being inducted deserve more time on TV for their legions of fans to see them reach the pennacle of their profession: The Hall of Fame. I think that perhaps on Saturday night the network could allot two full hours of the ceremony in order to allow more of the lesser known stars have their moment. I'm a Georgia native and would have loved to see Bullet Bob Armstrongs full speech. I remember seeing Abdullah the Butcher in local gyms and would have loved to see and hear him speak. For all I know during his career he always had a manager do his talking for him but to finally hear him would have been a tremendous treat. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?
I'm not taking away from Shawn Michaels or The Road Warriors but I would have enjoyed the show even more had Armstrong, Butcher and the others be allowed on air. I believe it's time that changes were made for this special night not only for the WWE fans but for the all time greats that are being honored into the hallowed halls of professional wrestling lore.
