VWA The War begins: Episode 1

Mick Foley announces that all titles will be challenged for tonight, and the world title will be in a Tournament. Batista interrupts Foley and tells the GM that the title is his by right and he will win the title any way he can.

Dolph Ziggler defeats the Great Khali, Cody Rhodes, Brother Ray, Brother Devon and Doug Williams in a 6 Man Battle Royal to win the VWA Television title
The Great Khali is ganged up on by all competitors, Cody Rhodes is thrown out by Brother Devon, Doug Williams is dropkicked over the ropes by Dolph Ziggler, and Brother Devon is thrown over by Brother Ray, who is locked in the Sleeper Hold and when unconscious, falls over the top rope.

Ahmed Johnson calls out John Morrison and tells him that he won’t wait for their qualifying match tonight, so out comes Morrison and a referee.

Ahmed Johnson defeats John Morrison to progress to the Final of the World Title Tournament
John Morrison controls the early going, but eventually Johnson’s strength starts to show and he brutalises the Tuesday Night Delight. But Morrison reverses the Axe Kick into a Pele Kick, and hits a Running Star Press for a 2. Ahmed blocks the Starship Pain and hits a massive Clothesline, setting up JoMo for the Pearl River Plunge.

The Undertaker and Ken Shamrock defeat Jack Swagger and Vader to progress to the Final of the World Title Tournament

Jack Swagger takes some cheap shots at The Undertaker and goes for a Suplex, but it is blocked and reversed into a Hells Gate, causing Vader to break up the submission attempt. Vader is tagged in, and after some brawling, attempts the Powerbomb but Undertaker escapes and tags out to Ken Shamrock. After 5 minutes of domination by the larger Vader, Vader hits the Vader Bomb and looks like he will win the match, but Swagger tags himself in, causing Swagger and Vader to argue. Shamrock has time to recover and hits the Belly to Belly Suplex on Swagger and lock in the Ankle Lock to win by submission.

Rated RKO came up to Batista backstage, and told him that they fully supported him in their match tonight, but when it came to the final, he wouldn’t last against Edge and Randy Orton, and that they could only carry him to the final.

The Hardy Boyz defeat Lethal Consequences to win the VWA Tag Team titles

In a quick match, The Hardy Boyz show off their tag team prowess by double teaming Jay Lethal, and despite, a brief athletic showcase by Lethal Consequences when they hit a double Suicide Dive onto Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy hits the Swanton Bomb onto Consequences Creed for the Tag Team titles.

Rated RKO and Batista defeat Daniel Bryan, Val Venis and Owen Hart to progress to the Final of the World Title Tournament

In a squash match, Batista dominated Daniel Bryan and Val Venis for nearly the whole match, and then tagged out to Edge who speared both men. Owen Hart tagged himself in and tried to take the match to Edge, but was hit with a chair from the outside by Batista and punted in the head by Randy Orton for the pinfall.

The Rock and Stone Cold defeat Abyss and Drew McIntyre to progress to the Final of the World Title Tournament

The best match of the evening so far is sent into pandemonium after The Rock hits the Rock Bottom on Abyss, only to be hit with the Future Shock DDT. Drew is then hit with the Stone Cold Stunner, but the two legal men are knocked out. Abyss is up first and goes for the Black Hole Slam, only for Austin to tag in secretly, and hit the Stunner on Abyss for the win.

Backstage, we see Ken Shamrock prepare for the world title match, when he is attacked by Jack Swagger. Swagger hits the Gutwrench Powerbomb onto the concrete, laying out Shamrock.

RVD defeats Rey Mysterio in a Ladder match to win the VWA Cruiserweight title

A very hard fought match with plenty of action and risks taken. RVD was very hardcore with the ladder and two steel chairs he brought in, but Rey Mysterio used his Lucha Libre style to thrill the crowd. But RVD won after he pushed the ladder to the concrete floor below, while Rey was reaching for the belt, and climbed another ladder that was in the ring.

The Great Khali is in Mick Foley’s office, and Foley tells the giant that he will have to replace Ken Shamrock in the World Title Tournament. Khali nods and grunts his understanding, before leaving.

Stone Cold defeats Ahmed Johnson, the Undertaker, and the Great Khali, Edge, Randy Orton, Batista and the Rock to win the VWA World title

Edge eliminates Ahmed Johnson after reversing the Pearl River Plunge into a Hurrancanrana Pin, Undertaker eliminates Batista with a Tombstone Piledriver, Randy Orton eliminates Great Khali with help from Edge, Steve Austin eliminates Randy Orton, after Edge accidentally Spears Orton, Undertaker then eliminates Edge with a Chokeslam as Edge turns around, Stone Cold eliminates The Rock with a Stunner after The Rock comes into the ring from underneath it, and finally, Austin reverses a Last Ride into a roll-up pin to win the title.

As Austin celebrates Undertaker walks up to Stone Cold and moves to shake his hand, but Austin thinks it’s an attack and strikes Taker with the World title belt. Taker shakes off the blow and chases Austin out of the ring.
