The first WWE Elimination Chamber PPV is tonight (now that it's no longer No Way Out) and I'm being challenged by two people (so far - might end up being three).  So far it's kaihtafc and roadkill25 that I'll definitely be facing.

This show isn't as easy to pick as it usually is.  There are a lot of ways WWE could choose to go heading into WrestleMania.  Just about everyone in the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match could theoretically walk out with the title - these are just some of the possibilities I've heard people talking about: Sheamus could retain, and defend against HHH at WM26; HHH could win the title, and defend against Sheamus or HBK at WM26; Randy Orton could win the title, and defend against Ted DiBiase Jr and/or Cody Rhodes at WM26; John Cena could win the title, and defend against Batista at WM26.  Considering almost all of those matches could happen WITHOUT the title being involved makes it really tough to choose!

But choose we all must, and below you'll find the picks I'm going with!

My Thoughts: Out of all the possible WrestleMania title matches, Sheamus vs Triple H is the least likely in my opinion to be a viable match without the title on the line.  (of course, the match even happening at all is still just speculation on my part)  I think Sheamus has been doing very well in his role as WWE Champion, and if they took the title off him right before WrestleMania, I'm not even sure how he'd fit into the show.  So I have to go with Sheamus retaining.

My Thoughts: I am going with the popular Edge vs Chris Jericho match for WrestleMania.  I think Undertaker will end up facing off with HBK, and the only way for that to happen (unless Edge challenged for the WWE Championship and somehow HBK was able to get in line for the Smackdown title..) is if Taker drops the belt tonight.

My Thoughts: I read here on the site that someone said Maryse should win because Mickie James vs Maryse at WrestleMania is a fun divas match (on paper at least) that fits the bill of being on the biggest show of the year.  I agree with that so even though I have two heels winning the two biggest matches on the show, I'm still picking the heel to win in this match.

My Thoughts: Man, another heel to win - but you know, going into WrestleMania with all the heels on top is probably a good idea.  WrestleMania is where the faces are supposed to conquer!  So yeah, I don't follow Smackdown (not because I don't want to), so I don't know much about this program, but I think McIntyre is a rising star and Kane doesn't really need the win over him.  So Drew to win!

My Thoughts: I hope this match is happening tonight!  I was really tempted to pick No Contest for this, since I don't think either Batista or Edge needs a loss going into huge programs for WrestleMania - but I did check off interference so that it's not a clean win for Edge.  I could easily see HBK interfering in this match - having issue with Edge possibly challenging Taker.  And there was a time not too long ago when Batista claimed he wanted Taker at WrestleMania - but maybe that's been completely dropped now.  Well, Jericho can always interfere and accidentally help Edge.

My Thoughts: This question was added really because of people speculating that HBK would take someone's spot in either Chamber match.  I don't think that's happening, so I'm picking no.  But HBK and Taker (or HHH) could easily "touch" (that's all that has to happen!) anytime during the show, screwing my pick up!

My Thoughts: Since I'm going with HHH vs Sheamus at WM26, I think having Sheamus pin HHH last can be used to start that program.

My Thoughts: It could easily go the other way, with Orton eliminating DiBiase, but I feel like having DiBiase get rid of Orton helps build to a potential WM match between them much better.

My Thoughts: Yeah - obviously since I'm going with Sheamus to win, I'm kinda putting all my eggs in one basket.  I should've asked who'll eliminate Cena instead, to help me out a bit!

For some reason Europe's Elite has decided to gang up on me on the Road to WrestleMania!  I was challenged by HBKIsForever at the Royal Rumble, I'm being challenged by kaihtafc at Elimination Chamber, and it's all culminating with me facing off against the administrator of Europe's Elite, mitch176, at WrestleMania 26.

I was able to take down HBKIsForever at the Rumble (live blog found here), so I'm hoping my luck continues! 

I have previously taken on kaihtafc at last year's Judgment Day PPV (live blog found here) and won, but not by much - it was 134 points to 121 points.

I've also faced off against mitch176 twice before, and I'm 0-2 against him.  He also challenged me at last year's Judgment Day PPV (live blog found here) and beat me by even less than I beat kaihtafc - 141 points to my 134 points.  Then we also battled at last year's Breaking Point PPV (live blog found here), and that time, mitch176 beat me by even less points - only a 6 point difference, 67 points to my 61 points.  It's always been close and my goal now is to win at WrestleMania 26 by more than 13 points - putting me ahead in the war points-wise, at least!

I haven't lost a challenge since Survivor Series, counting both TNA and WWE PPVs.  And I don't plan to lose again until at least SummerSlam this year!

My Thoughts: I think out of all the "main event players", Jericho is the one that would benefit most from winning the Rumble match.  I am pretty the direction we're heading will see HBK face either Undertaker or Triple H at WrestleMania (and does he really need to win the Rumble to get either of those matches?  not really), with John Cena vs Batista as a cross-brand non-title match, and I'm thinking Chris Jericho vs Edge could end up being the Smackdown main event on the show.  So Edge would have to somehow win the title between now and WrestleMania if Jericho wins the Rumble..  but it's not completely impossible!  Plus, I want Jericho to tease returning to Raw since it'll be his choice - and then decide to stay on Smackdown.  And Jericho's never won the Rumble before!

My Thoughts: Well, looking above, I could almost see why Mysterio winning the title could actually work out..  since I'd see Edge beating Mysterio before I'd see anyone beating The Undertaker.  I did pick interference, so anything could happen...  but I have a hard time picking Mysterio to go over here.  If CM Punk and Mysterio feud into WrestleMania, perhaps Punk interference here would be nice.

My Thoughts: This is another tough one.  I'm assuming HHH vs Sheamus right now for WrestleMania, so keeping the belt on Sheamus would be necessary for that.  Though he could always win it back at Elimination Chamber.

My Thoughts: I think Edge will make an appearance, probably not wrestle.  I easily can see RVD coming in for the Rumble match - he's always been cool to come in and wrestle for a night.  The trick is if WWE thinks he's going to TNA, they might not want him to appear for them at all.  But I'm going to go out on a limb and say he'll be there.

My Thoughts: Well, I think Jericho will be out early, to stack the odds against the heel.  I went with 4.

My Thoughts: Although I don't think he'll eliminate too many top guys, I think he'll score a lot of eliminations on younger talent to get the crowd pumped and hoping for an HBK win.

My Thoughts: I put this question in because I know some people wonder if a title match will go on last, with an ending that may tie into the Rumble finish.  (the top scenario I've read people talk about is HBK winning the Rumble and then helping to make sure Taker walks out with the belt)

You might have noticed a new link appearing right underneath the site logo.  Sometimes you'll see a link to our Facebook page (which if you haven't become a fan of yet, it'd be most appreciated if you do!), and now sometimes you'll see a link to the IWD - the Internet Wrestling Database. 

If you've been here for a while, you might remember a point when my "next big plans" were to create a historical database for every match, PPV, TV show, and house show that's ever happened.  Well, luckily I ditched those plans because it looked like such a daunting task.  The IWD was already up back then but I hadn't found it yet - if I had seen it, I'd have never even thought about trying to open up my own version.

It's a pretty awesome site - you can search for any match by any wrestler by any promotion.  You can get the win/loss percentages for a wrestler over a given period of time - like checking out what Hulk Hogan's win/loss record was during Hulkamania in the 1980s.  Or you can check a wrestler's record against a particular opponent - like if you want to see who's winning overall between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker over their entire careers.

I highly recommend you check out the site!  I wouldn't have made it such a high-profile link at the top of the site if it weren't an awesome resource for every wrestling fan.

Since I won't be putting all of these questions on the PPV game for the Rumble, I thought I'd list all of them here, and see if anyone wants to share your prediction for each.  I'll put my guesses in italics under each.

Who will win it? I definitely ask this one, but that's okay - I'm going to list other questions I'm going to ask on the game and that I've already asked as free-floating questions.

Shawn Michaels.  I think he'll win it but give up the title shot in order to face the non-champion Undertaker at WrestleMania.  But he'll win it to prove he deserves another match with Taker.

What entrant number will the winner have? 1-30 are the possibilities!

Well, if I go with HBK, I think he'll be out there a while.  I'll pick 4, because this site is 4-Down so that's as good of a reason as any.

Who will score the most eliminations? We don't know the 30 participants of course, but just assume everyone is in the match.

Chris Jericho.  It will give him something to brag about and keep him strong after what they've done to him lately.  Plus I see him hiding outside the ring, sneaking in to make an easy elimination from time to time.

Who will enter at the #1 spot?  The #30 spot?

Well, I think WWE may announce these ahead of time, but I'll take a stab at it.  Kofi Kingston at #1, and Ted DiBiase Jr at #30.  (he'll buy the spot, of course)

Who will be in the match the longest?  The shortest?

I think either Michaels, Kingston, or CM Punk will get the longest time.  I see Santino Marella getting the shortest, yet again.

Who will the final 4 people in the match?  The final 2?

Well, HBK for sure, HHH as it adds some intrigue with partners being there, DiBiase Jr, and possibly Batista.  Ends with HBK and HHH.

Will there be any entrants that are not active WWE wrestlers?

Yeah, I have no idea.  Let's see if Rob Van Dam appears at TNA's Genesis first.  I'd go with him for sure if he doesn't go to TNA.  Other than him, I don't know who I'd even care to see - I mean a special appearance by The Rock (maybe to quickly eliminate John Cena) would be amazing, but doubtful.  I'm sure a few old guys will get in, but I'm not looking forward to that unless it's The Ultimate Warrior or Randy Savage.

How many times will HBK "skin the cat"?

I'll go with the number 4 again. :)

I try to stay away from giving too many of my opinions about things going on in the business because I don't want to alienate anyone from playing here because you disagree strongly with my thoughts..  but this is a pretty huge topic at the moment, definitely will go down as a huge moment in wrestling history, so I thought I'd write about it.

First off, I'm a WWE fan through and through.  I've been watching since around 1989-1990.  I never cared for NWA/WCW (though now I can look back and enjoy many of the matches) and only started watching WCW in 1998 (although always side-by-side with Raw).  I watch TNA PPVs because I have to for the site, but I usually enjoy the shows.  Some things I've always hated, but they have a batch of wrestlers who I certainly enjoy watching perform.  So keep this in mind while reading my thoughts, because I'll admit to having a WWE bias for sure.

So this past Monday night, I tuned in to the first hour of Impact.  As a lot of people were, I was very skeptical of the benefits of bringing Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff in (as well as their recent decision to make Dixie Carter an on-screen performer).  I'll go in order of what I remember happening -

• Show kicked off with a lot of fan interviews.  I thought this was an awful way to put over TNA.  Not only did the people they interviewed not seem like the type you really want to push to a new audience as a group you would want to join with, but the quotes were a little unbelievable to me.  First, the one guy who said something like - (paraphrased) "I want real wrestling.  Old school wrestling.  Like the days of Andre vs Hogan, and The Ultimate Warrior."  Really?  The "old school wrestling" is one of the things TNA had been doing a fairly good job with - matches with Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, and recently Desmond Wolfe are what I would say are the "old school"-style matches of today.  Andre vs Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior was more sports entertainment - and very similar to WWE's current product today.  So that blew my mind right from the start.  And then all the constant mentions of WWE, Vince, and how TNA is #2 now but will be #1 soon - huh?  Why wouldn't you say on the show you're going to get the biggest audience on that you ARE the #1 company.  Word it as the "#1 professional wrestling company" if you want, since the difference between wrestling and sports entertainment seemed to be a theme TNA tried to play up all night. 
• The first match was in that incredibly awful cage.  I was really shocked that that was how they opened the show.  Not only is it incredibly hard to see any action going on in it, but even when they could get good shots up close it was tough to tell what was going on elsewhere in the ring.  And then the no contest finish - I was BAFFLED at that.  The crowd reaction was perfect for that.  Then seeing Homicide attempt to crawl up the cage - I really thought he was going to fall.  I still don't know if it was planned that he wouldn't make it, and would fall down and then have to escape another way, but it seems to me the better situation would have been he made it to the top and raised his arms - and THEN have Jeff Hardy appear and climb the cage to give him the Twist of Fate up there.  I have to wonder if that's what they wanted to do, because that would have made a lot more sense in my opinion.
• And as mentioned, the Jeff Hardy debut.  I was definitely surprised at it - at first I wasn't sure if they were just showing him joining the audience, but when he jumped the rail it was obvious it was something more.  The problem I had with this is, why is he debuting in a way where it appears he'll be feuding with Homicide?  Shouldn't he be in the main event picture immediately?  Especially when no one really knows how long he'll be able to stay out of prison.  Get him in the main event immediately so that if he does have to disappear, at least you got a good draw from him first.  I'm sure they'll still get a good boost from him, no matter his role, but seemed like a poor choice to me.
• When they showed the white limo coming, I knew right away that was going to be Ric Flair and not Hulk Hogan.  Flair has always come in a white limo as far as I can remember, so that was my gut reaction.  And what's up with the late arrival?  Both for Flair and Hogan.  For such an important night in wrestling history, wouldn't they be there before the show began?
• Nash's promo did nothing for me.  It was too inside and didn't really get anything across to me, except that he couldn't wait for Hogan to arrive. 
• ODB vs Tara was not a good match.  I don't like ODB's character and while I get that they probably think it sets them apart from WWE by having this edgy female wrestler, it comes across as trashy to me. 
• At first I was excited when I saw that Scott Hall and Sean Waltman were denied entrance.  I was hoping that meant they were showing all of us that our fears of Hogan bringing the past back were wrong, and there would be other cameos of people not allowed in who would never appear on TNA again.  A small payday for all of them just to get across that Hogan coming in wasn't going to translate to a bunch of old Hogan buddies making it onto the roster.
• I started watching the Hogan promo but Raw was about to start.  Besides noticing how poorly he looked walking to the ring, it felt like he was also saying TNA is #2 but "would be #1" - tell me it's #1 already!  Say you've got the talent, great wrestling, etc., so you ALREADY ARE the #1 company.  And that all that this big moment in history means is that more people around the world will be able to come to the realization that TNA is the top company and has been for some time.

So of course Raw began, and sorry, but I wasn't going to miss a second of the opening.  I'm not going to run down Raw with bullet points because there wasn't anything I can point to and say they did badly.  The only part I was disappointed with was Kofi Kingston losing to Randy Orton.  I felt that would have intensified the hopefully new direction they're taking with Legacy, and I guess they still did that partially by not having Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr celebrate with Orton after..  but I'd have liked to have seen Kingston pick up the win and at the same time further the Legacy storyline.

Everything with Bret Hart was absolutely incredible.  I haven't been as glued to my TV as I was during his segments in a LONG time.  I was watching in 1997 so having what was in my opinion the truly biggest moment in wrestling history have some continuation was great to me. 

The direction TNA is going, bringing in all these old guys, maybe you may think I'm a hypocrite for disliking the direction it seems like TNA is headed but enjoying what WWE is doing with Bret Hart.  But WWE is taking something from the past and building on it, it's not just a complete rehash of what we've seen before.  TNA, on the other hand, seems like they're copying things from the past, with guys who don't even look like they belong in a ring anymore, and I struggle to think of a positive way they can go with all these former stars.  It's not like Bret Hart is here to wrestle a match - well, I think he'll have a "match" with Vince McMahon at WrestleMania - he's here to add a final chapter to one of the greatest storylines/shoots in history.  The old guys TNA is bringing in seem to actually be coming in to work - The Nasty Boys vs Team 3D?  The Outsiders vs a much younger team?  nWo-style beatdowns?  TNA was different to me because they had talents that can put on incredible matches that you rarely see on WWE.  Now it's like they feel that wasn't what could set them apart.  That worries me, for sure. 
So I'm not going to completely trash TNA yet, because I want to give them a chance.  They may just be starting things off this way to draw attention and then move back to pushing the talented wrestlers.  I'm hoping for that.

It was just funny to me that that night, WWE put across their younger talents, with the Bret Hart storyline sparsely hit on (and even if he is an old guy, it's pure storyline and it had a great start), while TNA threw out old guy after old guy, showed us their talents in really bad ways (the red cage, ODB vs Tara, Joe vs Abyss), and made it look like all of our fears of Hogan bringing in his crew to put them over TNA's talent.  Styles/Angle was a decent match, but I preferred Kingston/Orton because there was a story to it.  TNA does so many of the "let's wrestle because it's what we do and we want to show off" matches now that it doesn't do as much for me as it used to.

And no, I really didn't watch much of the final two hours of Impact, I only read the reports after.  I switched to it a few times but other than Styles/Angle, nothing kept me from going right back to Raw - even if Raw was still at commercial.

I'm also shocked TNA didn't run a NEW episode of Impact last night, instead of just repeating Monday's show.  So anyone who might have been intrigued by the Monday night show now has to wait well over a week to see what happens next. 

Hopefully those TNA fans of you out there don't get pissed off at some of the things I said.  I've been really enjoying the past TNA PPVs, especially with matches like Angle/Wolfe and Styles/Joe/Daniels - but my gut feeling is the changes that are coming mean we'll see less of that. 

And can I say one more time, BRET HART!  Haven't marked out that hard in forever.  I guess if I had caught the moment on Impact when Hall said "Hey, yo" I would have marked a bit, too, but I can say now there are only two things that I think would get as close of a reaction from me:  1) Sting coming to WWE and 2) The Rock coming back to wrestle HBK (who, after Bret and Shawn hugged, may be a possibility now?  HOPE!).
