Remember SummerSlam 1997?

HBK had returned from injury, but was still out of action.  Vince McMahon ordered him to be the guest referee of Bret Hart vs The Undertaker (c).  HBK, during the match, attempted to hit Bret with a steel chair, but Bret ducked and Taker took the full force of the chair.  Bret pinned him, and since HBK's job was on the line if he "didn't call it down the middle", he had to reluctantly give the win to Bret.  And of course this was all part of the storyline that would see HBK vs Hart face off at Survivor Series 97.

I think something similar will happen over the next few months.

I think Triple H will accidentally assist Punk in winning the undisputed WWE Championship.  I think they will end up facing off at Survivor Series.

And it could go one of two ways in my mind.

Punk beats HHH when Vince McMahon makes his return and tells the ref to call the damn bell.

HHH beats Punk with or without Vince McMahon making any kind of appearance, but still as a screwjob.

So either Punk will be the ultimate heel heading into 2012 - or HHH will be.  Either way, the other person will be the foil. 

You may be asking, what about Cena?  Well, he's got The Rock lined up for WrestleMania, and Rock has already mentioned being at Survivor Series.  They don't even have to book Cena in any matches for Survivor Series.  They could do a contract signing on PPV and because it's The Rock it will still be something people look forward to.

I think the ideal plan would be to lead towards Punk/HHH and Cena/Rock at WrestleMania.  The weird thing is I have no idea who they could be pitting Undertaker against.  Since it won't be Cena, who could it be?  I don't think there is anyone active on the roster that would provide the big match Undertaker feel.  They may have to come up with a surprise.  Maybe it's time to start those Sting rumors again.

Here are the superstars I've picked for my roster for the first game week of 4-UP WWE fantasy wrestling -

Main Event
John Cena - It's hard to go wrong with John Cena.  You can probably pick him and never change it, even with the penalties you'll eventually incur I think you'd still do best with Cena.

Upper Midcard
Christian - It looks like he's on the verge of main eventing, at least on the Smackdown side of things.  Since game week 1 includes Extreme Rules, and Christian has a good shot of winning the world title, I think it's crazy not to pick him!

Sheamus - Wouldn't have picked him last week, but now that he's over on Smackdown, I think we will see Sheamus move quickly back to a top spot.

Midcard
R-Truth - He's getting a lot more TV time lately and could easily get involved in the WWE championship three-way at Extreme Rules.

Cody Rhodes - I expect Rey to win this Sunday but I think with Rey off Smackdown now, Cody will be immediately thrusted into a new feud come next Friday night.

Mark Henry - Another person I would not have moved before the draft, but his attacks on Cena and Christian on Raw make me think big things may be in store for him.

Diva
Beth Phoenix - With the move to Raw, I think we could be seeing more of her.  Honestly I have a tough time with this category because I don't really care about the divas!

Tag Team
Santino Marella - He gets a lot of TV time so I think he's the best pick of the tag team category.

Undercard
Zack Ryder - For some reason the internet is nuts for this guy, and I think WWE should run with that.

The Great Khali - Like with Santino, he gets a lot of TV time, so I am going with him.

If you don't get the email alerts for the WWE 4-UP Fantasy Wrestling game here, then you might be about to miss out on setting up your roster for game week one!

If you don't know what the game is all about, let me try to explain  -

1) You pick a roster for each week of the season (which lasts about 3-4 months) of WWE superstars. The superstars are split up into categories - so for instance you can choose 1 Main Eventer (The Miz, John Cena, Randy Orton, etc.), 2 Upper Midcarders (John Morrison, Sheamus, Christian, etc.), 3 Midcarders (Daniel Bryan, Cody Rhodes, R-Truth, etc.), 1 Diva, 1 Tag Team Wrestler, and 2 Undercarders.

2) You're always picking a roster for the UPCOMING week. Cause if you were picking for the current week, then people who read the spoilers for Smackdown on Tuesday nights would have a big unfair advantage. So you have to think ahead and also make sure to note if a PPV is the next week, because you may want to choose champions or challengers predominantly.

3) Once the week is up, Cletus and a lot of awesome people who help him run the game (apsouthern, NeedRepairs, wwefan18, and nighte) get the scores entered for each wrestler for each of the shows that week - Raw, Superstars, NXT, Smackdown, and a PPV (if there was one).

4) You earn the points for each of the wrestlers on your roster, with a few tricks to it. There are bonuses and penalties. The bonuses come from things like you picking a guy who very few other people picked, or wrestlers who were voted highly here on the site in your top 5 picks of the week. The penalties only come into play later in the season, if you've picked a guy too many times for your roster. That's just to keep you from picking John Cena every week. (and also to keep people who just let their rosters auto-run from having a great chance of winning)

5) The auto-run I just mentioned is what I think Cletus calls rollovers. If you pick a roster this week, and forget to pick one next week, your roster from the last week will get pulled over automatically when the scores are run. It's like auto-pilot. So if you get sick or go on vacation, at least you still have the chance to earn points. And you don't have to feel obligated to keep coming every week to change your picks.

So hopefully my info was helpful to some of you who didn't know about the game! It's tougher than the regular PPV prediction games because you really have no idea who's going to make it on TV every week, though for a PPV you know you have a certain percentage chance of getting points. You could earn 0 points for a week of 4-UP though it's unlikely you'd ever get 0 points on a PPV!

We are heading into SEASON 11 here at 4DOWN!

This next season will have WWE's Extreme Rules, Over The Limit, Capitol Punishment, Money in the Bank, and SummerSlam.  On the TNA side, we're starting with Lockdown, and I'm not entirely sure what the rest of the TNA PPVs are yet.  (WWE's website is much better at letting you know the schedule!)

So you will be able to predict all of those PPVs, and hopefully you will also join with the 4-UP WWE Fantasy Wrestling Game - where you pick your own roster of WWE stars each week and earn points based on how well your roster does that week on TV & PPV. It's like the old WWE Fantasy game of the past.

I don't know for sure which PPVs will have prizes, but Cletus gives out prizes for the big ones for sure. Well we do know Lockdown and Extreme Rules will each have a $25 prize. And I'm sure SummerSlam will finish off with a big prize.  And if you win the season, you'll be able to win more!

If you're a wrestling fan and you're NOT playing, you're NUTS!!!!

I am wondering how many other people would prefer to see this match too..  After last night's Elimination Chamber, it looks like we're getting (stuck with?) John Cena vs The Miz at WrestleMania.  It was pretty obvious with The Rock mentioning both Cena and Miz last week.

But I was hoping things would go in a different direction..

I really think this year would have been the perfect opportunity to do a heel vs heel WWE Championship match.  CM Punk vs The Miz for the WWE title.  Considering how great both of them are on the mic, I don't think there would have been a problem of keeping interest up in the match.  (since normally in a heel/heel match, the problem is making the fans interested)

I think fans would have been happy to pick a side, you're either with Team Punk or Team Miz.  The promos would be awesome, and throw The Rock in there in some fashion, and it would be incredible.  I think the match would end up being great, too.

I'm going to hope that maybe Punk will get thrown into the match to make it a three way, because there's nothing interesting about Cena/Miz and Orton/Punk.

This is a spoiler..  it's not 100% GUARANTEED to happen, but it sounds like it is likely.

I've seen it reported enough places that seems like it's the truth!  Stone Cold Steve Austin will be the host of WWE's Tough Enough when it returns!

I'm pretty excited about it.  I was planning on watching the show anyway, but Austin is so much fun to watch, that this puts it over the top!

What if WWE ended up going the way of The Ultimate Fighter with coaches on each side, and merge the Tough Enough concept with NXT in a way?  I think it would be pretty cool - and it could be used to build up a big match over the course of the season.  Like if John Morrison was the coach on one side, with Daniel Bryan on the other - meaning the season would culminate with a big Morrison/Bryan match.  I think that'd be pretty cool.

I don't know if they'd do it since it'd be a pretty blatant copy of TUF, but then again, TUF was really a blatant copy of Tough Enough in the first place.
